Howdy from Forney - come out to one of our support groups. The one that gamergirl and cubbies mentioned was a good time today!

Is Isopure ready to drink a "clear liquid"?

Isopure Grape what they gave me while I was in the hospital.

    HOW to exercise?

I enjoy watching the Zumba classes at my gym. And for the record, the skinny minnies are always the MINORITY.

What do you eat on days when nothing looks good?

Not sure what part of DFW you're in, but if you get brave there is a beef jerky outlet just outside of the Bass Pro Shop (Outdoor World?) in Garland. I highly recommend trying the smoked buffalo if you haven't already.

    You're talking about Ostrim - THEY'RE AMAZING!
  6. There is a support group in Mansfield that I highly recommend - PM me for details.
  7. I read your paragraph as saying all sleevers who gained their weight back gained it because they only had the sleeve and only the sleeve combined with DS. Is that what you're trying to say?

OMG I have discovered jerky made from different animals - alligator, ostrich, elk, buffalo, venison, and kangaroo. Definitely a fan!

  10. I had surgery on a Tuesday, I could have gone back to work the following Monday. I was on the treadmill at the gym a week after the day.
  11. Does your surgeon allow sf pudding that close to surgery?

I call "drinking 64 oz water" BS

WLS is probably not a good thing to have if a person doesn't like rules. Most of us were given rules of some sort - as doctors vary many of us differ in what we're expected to do. If you don't want to drink the water/fluids you were told to, that's your business. What concerns me is a noob reading what you've said and thinking "if she can disregard the rules, so can I". THAT bothers me.
  13. THINspiration Support Group will have it's monthly meeting this Saturday 8/17 1230pm at Seasons 52 in Plano. Please reply to this thread asap if you are interested in attending and I will contact the coordinator on your behalf. People, this group is only a few months old but is taking off. We've had several great outings with many more being planned!
  14. I've asked her to add 1 and tentatively 2. When you enter the restaurant, just tell them you're with Kevin's group and someone will lead you to the back room where we are. Looking forward to meeting both of you!

    I must be a freak..

    Great attitude, keep it up!
  16. I started at 416lbs and really didn't do much of anything special. I had mandatory NUT visits once a month and just started following guidelines she gave us Plus I started walking. In january of this year, i couldn't stand for 10 minutes without breaking into a sweat. NUT said walk 10 minutes every day and I said "I can do that". The first time I tried I had to take 3 breaks and was drenched in sweat. Yesterday and the day before, I did an hour on the treadmill each day. I had to work up to that but it's been so worth it. I will walk a 5K within a few months. No reason you can't accomplish the same.
  17. I've lost 50 preop plus 53 postop as I type this. I agree it's scary, especially to see how much more I have to lose. I recently got involved with the greatest local support group where we do things together and look out for each other and being involved makes a world of difference for me.

    Starting WLS classes

There are people who get little or no education before surgery and suffer for it. You'll be thankful for all this later.

Teeth correction needed as a VSG vet?

Years ago a root canal and my first crown convinced me to start taking care of my teeth. That and learning that bad dental hygiene has been linked to heart issues! Sounds like you're on your way tho, and you can never been to vain about your teeth. If you don't already have one, go get a WaterPik. It doesn't replace flossing, it's not meant to, but will clean out those pockets really well where the toothbrush and flossing can't reach.
