    Dr Manuel Castro

Hi there. Dr. Castro is my surgeon. I first contacted his office in January and am scheduled for surgery on 5/28. The office staff are friendly, Dr. Castro is kinda quiet and reserved but friendly as well. Someone here at work (and his wife) used and recommended him so that's why I chose him. Was there something in particular your friend wanted to know?
  2. My doctor says 1 year after surgery. I'd recommend you ask your doctor.

    Tmi maybe

I use the Psyllium Fiber Metamucil - does anyone see any issue using that post-surgery?
  4. Just made up some of this - all I need is a beach, some rum and one of those little umbrella to put in it and I'm set! Seriously - not too sweet, I used 8oz of Water for the packet and it tasted great. Can't wait to try the other flavors!

Which hr monitor do i want?

Gotta make a pitch for mine: http://www.polar.com..._with_Bluetooth Paired with my Galaxy Note 2 and http://www.digifit.com/overview/ I get lots of stats related to my workout in realtime and afterwards. I sync it, and it uploads to DigitFit's website where it stores my workout info. DigiFit also talks to myfitnesspal and other apps. My first Polar was an A5 I got in 2005 which I don't believe is made anymore. The ones you mentioned have far more features and are more expensive.

    Sleep study and cpap machine

Oh we've had MANY conversations about it. The last thing she gave me for it was Finasteride - among it's many possible effects (like practically everything else today), it says it could take a year for it to work.

    Sleep study and cpap machine

I wake up many times per night to urinate. Are you saying that could go away if I no longer need the CPAP machine?

    Sleep study and cpap machine

It sounds like you're not needing it but only a sleep study will tell you for sure. I'm happy for you and can't wait to not need my own machine anymore!

    drinking

My NUT had us start working on this before surgery - it was easier than I thought. Here's why you shouldn't drink while eating:

    HGH

I don't know anything about HGH, but if you suspect low testosterone please get your level checked if you haven't already.

    Horrible comments

People sometimes say things just to get a reaction like yours. Life is too short - don't waste your time on people like that.

    New guy with questions

Welcome! There are LOADS of wisdom on VST, just start surfing and ask questions. I learned a lot just going to my mandatory NUT (nutritionist) appointments and I suggest you start going to support groups.

    Family Support

My wife nagged encouraged me to do it, my daughter supports me but doesn't want me to have it, a close friend says it's barbaric (but she still supports me), and everyone else that knows has mostly been supportive. In reading people's stories on here, I quickly noticed a common theme: "I've been struggling with weight all of my life" is the the way most of them begin. I'm no different. I started my journey in January of this year. I've lost 34 pounds to date. I know I've got a workout plan and nutrition knowledge that obviously works. Why do I still want surgery? Because I've done this before SEVERAL times and each time I end up gaining it all back and then some. I'm tired of it.

    Missing my Red Bull's!

My doctor says that anything with caffeine is a no-no because it dehydrates you. Whatever you drink that has it doesn't count towards your Fluid intake. Preop, I'll just have my 64oz of Water AND my quadespresso! Let's see how tough I am after the surgery. (I'll crush and snort No-Doz if I have to - don't make me do it! )
