  1. I'm so glad to hear that! I wish it would hurry up and get here. Lol. I will keep you in my thoughts for a successful surgery, smooth recovery as well as getting to your ideal weight!
  2. I saved my tax return and got a part time job to cover the rest of the cost.
  3. My mind is made up... I think! Lol
  4. What's the saying? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure... My family doctor is completely on board. She said the risk from surgery was far less than the weight related diseases I was sure to have if I don't lose weight now.

Building Mass Burns Fat at a Faster Rate

Weight/resistance training is very important for women because it helps you maintain bone density as well. If you need any more reason to add it to your workouts, avoiding fractures as you get older should be a top reason.
  6. Wow. Scary! I hope you get an answer and RELIEF soon.
  7. You look great. It's hard to tell its the same person. Your eyes are bright and lively in the new you. Way to go!!!
  8. Author: Detoxinista.com Serves: 4-6 A creamy, fruit-based soft serve dessert! Ingredients 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored and chopped 1 cup almond milk 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for authentic sweetness) Instructions To get started, you’ll want to freeze the pineapple chunks. I chopped mine a day ahead of time, and froze the chunks overnight. You could also purchase frozen pineapple, if you prefer. As you can see from the picture below, the frozen pineapple reached the 6.5 – 7 cup mark on my blender pitcher. This recipe works best in a high-speed blender, like the Vitamix, because you’ll need to be able to pulverize the frozen pineapple into an ice-cream-like consistency. A normal blender will most likely not work, but a food processor might. Combine the frozen pineapple with the almond milk and honey, then blend until a frozen sorbet texture is achieved. For an authentic Dole Whip presentation, transfer the frozen dessert to a large plastic bag, and cut off the tip to create a piping bag. Pipe the pineapple whip into 4-6 dishes, and serve immediately! Any leftovers can be frozen in an ice cube tray, and used in smoothies later.
  9. Awesome. Looking great. Good job!!!!
  10. I haven’t personally been told to not eat it. I was told to avoid ‘soft’ calories. This is just an alternative, healthier frozen treat. And, as Jerseygirl68 pointed out, it would be easy to add protein to it.

    Feeling down

Holy moly! You look awesome... You have done such a great job. Give yourself a pat on the back and give it time to sink in. You are almost half the person you were before. Focus on things aside from the numbers... How do you feel? What can you do now that you couldn't before? How much more fun is it to shop? Congrats on all of your hard work.
  12. That's a great idea jerseygirl68.

    Puree week! Help

    That even looks yummy.
  17. Based on the results I’ve seen on here, I would wait to order yours. You may have to pay to have it rushed but it is a lot easier to take up a size or so than many sizes. Plus, you may lose in areas like your chest which will make for more alterations. It would be hard to order several sizes smaller now because you don’t have any way of knowing where you will be in 8 months.

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

I don't think anyone has denied at least some of their problem is owed to good addiction. I think what I and others are trying to say is, 'yes, food addiction is part of the problem but not the whole picture.' I had problems before I developed a 'food addiction.' Am I saying that food addiction is not part of the end result, absolutely it is part of where I am now. Gaining weight didn't start with a food addiction for me though. It was a series of things that made it all but impossible to maintain my healthy weight and made it very hard to lose weight and then spiraling into a food addiction as a result.

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

I can totally understand where you are coming from on both sides. I would never say I don’t have a food addiction or emotional response with food. However, I have been very diligent with diets and exercise numerous times and had such poor results, I didn’t have it in me to keep it going. I had a trainer for a very long time and followed a very strict diet set by a nutritionist and after several months the trainer told me that there was just no point in continuing because I had only lost 3 pounds and clearly wasn’t trying. I had worked so hard and it was so devastating, food addiction here I come.

Awesome! What a difference. You look very happy in the after pics as well!
  21. I'm not having surgery until July. However, I have a question about migraines. Was anyone that has had the sleeve surgery a migraine sufferer? How did the pre-op and post-op dieting affect your migraines? My migraines are fairly severe and can lead to hours of vomiting and dehydration. I'm worried the drastic change in quantity/way of eating will cause migraines and I don't want to be throwing up from a migraine after surgery. Thanks!
