Clear Vomit and droziness
CoreyCan replied to TiASleeves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That happens to me if I try to drink right after I eat. I only have to push a little and it comes up. It's hard to remember all of these rules but I'm trying! -
Worried I'm eating too much : (
CoreyCan replied to lahoffman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also, your stomach is still numb. I had the same problem. Didn't really feel "full" until about 2 weeks. I'm three weeks now and 4oz of anything is my limit or I get nauseous. -
Katherinec - if you're drinking the flavored Isopure get some Chrystal Light singles to add. I did the Punch Isopure with the Fruit Punch Chrystal Light. It's does make it pretty sweet but hides that protein after taste. You'll do great, just move as much as you can ie walk and you'll feel better sooner. And I know you can imagine it but you will be able to eat again in a couple of weeks. Just have to get used to each step as it comes. Your stomach will rumble with each new thing but it will stop. I'm 3 weeks out and it very rarely does it now.

Congrats folks! I'm 22 days out and it gets so much better. I feel totally "normal" now. Back to feeling like myself again. Nausea will go away. And those of you walking...keep walking, those of you not walking...start walking! Really helps Liquids are most important first week, so don't stress so much about the protein. However, if you can get it in do because it will help you from feeling so weak. Also, I was told by my NUT to have a regular (not sugar free) Jello everyday to help give me energy. (This is obviously not for diabetics). So there's my 2 cents! Good luck!

Not only is this forum giving me a lot of knowledge about this process I am about to undergo, but it's also going to make me a millionaire!

4 days out.....Why am I so hungry?!
CoreyCan replied to bradycone's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks out and had the same problem for the first 2 weeks. I even started trying soft foods pretty early to take that hungry feeling away. I learned it wasn't really hunger it was the acid in my stomach making my stomach burn and rumble like I was really hungry. I started taking Prilosec first just in the morning then after a couple of day I started in the evening as well. Definitely helped. Most of you on this post are newbies so let me say IT WILL GET BETTER! First 2 weeks sucked for me, just didn't feel like myself. Now I feel totally normal. I have been walking since my third day out. First I did 1 mile a day, now I do 2 and it definitely helps. So as I said, it will get better...promise -
Sorry Rebecca Maybe instead of focusing on him focus on yourself. There's someone out there for all of us and maybe he's not the one you're meant to be with. Just think how wonderful you'll feel when you've dropped this weight. Maybe look into some counseling. I've gone myself and it's very helpful. Good luck to you and remember you're worth taking care of!

Veteran sleevers who were slow losers in the beginning
CoreyCan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello there friends So I'm 20 days out and have only lost 11 pounds since surgery. I'm very happy to even have lost that and I'm not at all complaining, just wondering when did the weight loss pick up for you? Did you start doing something different or did it just finally start to "happen"? By the 3rd day of surgery I was walking 1 mile a day. Now I'm walking 2 miles a day just about every day. I take in about 800 calories a day. I'm not willing to go down in calories. Besides walking I'm an active person and I get very weak with any less calories. So that's my question folks, let me know what you think! -

Gman I replied yesterday to your post just about this same thing. Said I should print your post and hang it next to my scale. Instead I just went in my bathroom and threw my scale out!!! Too dramatic? Don't care! I got this surgery so I would be able to stop obsessing about my weight everyday. I'm going to go weigh myself at CVS and go there once a week. And, no, not offended about the pic. You are right and I definitely need to be more patient. Thanks for the words of wisdom gman and sharon -
Yay! Congratulations!!!!!!

Finally a New Wardrobe is in Order.
CoreyCan replied to NurseGrace's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations! Can't wait until I can unload my clothes. I live in yoga pants, sweatshirts and sneakers right now. I look like I'm always on my way to the gym lol! Anyone who knows me knows this is not me. I do like comfort but I'm a bit of a fashionista and love funky clothes. Congrats again! -
Chris Christie had lapband in February
CoreyCan replied to deedadumble's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So glad he did it! I'm from NJ and really love Chris Christie. I'm assuming he chose lap band because it's less invasive and quicker recovery. He needs to be in top shape to manage this crazy state! I believe he'll be running for president next election so I'm so glad he did this now. Unfortunately besides being judged for his weight there would be cause for concern of health risks for someone running this country. (kind of like why President Obama hid he smoked) -
What do you do at the movies?
CoreyCan replied to devonmae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So funny you asked this. I've been avoiding the movies like the plague. Can't imagine not having popcorn either! -
The body's adjustment time and post-op weight loss..
CoreyCan replied to gmanbat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amen to that Gman! I definitely needed to here this today. I'm trying to reason with my overly obsessive mind! I know logically that eat less + exercise more = weight loss. I'm also 40 now so weight won't drop super fast no matter what I do. Also, the slower I lose the less chance I have of loose skin and hair loss. I should print this out and put it next to my scale lol! Thanks again!! -
If your trying to cheat aiready. Your notvready
CoreyCan replied to tlah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why would you even start a post about what "you" think other people should or shouldn't do? People are so strange. -
Oh Jami I was the same as you. I was supposed to be on clear liquids for a week. By the 4th day I started shakes then yogurt and so on. I too felt like a failure and also had that "what the "F" did I do to myself?" But I'm now 18 days out and feeling really good. Also, not all antacids work the same. Maybe switch it up. I was taking Pepcid in the morning and then decided to start taking it in the evening as well. I also walk 1-2 miles/day and it has helped tremendously. It gets better...promise

Sickle Cell anyone?
CoreyCan replied to LI Gemini NY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So good to here! Glad you're feeling well and on your way!!! -
Do we have to do chewable vitamins forever or just until we're able to tolerate regular vitamins? I HATE chewable vitamins. I dread it every morning, they are so gross. Please tell me this is not forever?

Intense exercise increases circulating endocannabinoid and BDNF levels in humans—Possible implications for reward and depression
CoreyCan replied to Globetrotter's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Ughhh can't wait to start lifting again. Not that I'm any hardcore gym rat but I've always exercised which is why I think I never got as heavy as I'm sure with my eating warranted. Love feeling strong. My surgery was April 17 so I'm only 2-1/2 weeks out. My doctor said I can start again at 3 weeks. When did you start? -
A Week Ago Today...
CoreyCan replied to swomack1031's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't start to feel better until after I stopped the meds. I felt like because I was numb from them I was aggravating things because I couldn't feel them. I know that pain you're talking about. My doctor said it's from the stitch in the large incision (lower right side). Walking helps EVERYTHING! I say this in post after post, but really the more I walk the better I feel. I'm still not walking at the speed I used to but I'm getting there. My surgery was April 17 so today is my 2 week anniversary and I really feel great -
So I'm finally able to get all of my liquids and protein in at POD10. I'd been trying really hard to drink the Isopure but couldn't seem to finish it. Now I add a coordinating chrystal light flavor to the Isopure and pour it over ice. I bought the water bottle packets and it's actually really good this way. Just a suggestion for anyone struggling with liquids

Ready to drink 20 oz. I like the punch Isopure with a packet of the fruit punch Chrystal Light.
