  1. 7 weeks post op and I still totally struggle with this. My eyes are so much bigger than my stomach (probably literally now haha). It only takes one extra bite for me to feel like I have an alien in my chest trying to get out. Daily struggle but I'll still take it over being able to finish my plate and my kids any day!

    2nd day of post op

Yuck, I remember this all to well. It will pass and in a few weeks you'll feel soooo much better!
  3. 30 minutes before and you be too full to eat and thirty minutes after for me (can't remember what they said) but if I try and drink right after I eat it doesn't go down. The water has actually come right back up from a simple push if I do. I do find I feel very thirsty as I'm eating but have learned my lesson. Now if I could just eat slower I'd be in good shape!

    Whats wrong with me?

It WILL come off promise! It's impossible for it not to just takes a while for your body to figure out what the heck is going on. I posted and responded to so many posts about the same thing in the beginning and now at 7 weeks I'm consistently losing. Not every day but every week. It will happen!

    Sex?!

I waited 2 weeks. Was a little uncomfortable during "the grand finally" but got over it quickly!
  6. I paid about $26,000 in NJ. Yes it's a lot of money but my physical and emotional health is worth it. I had my surgery April 17 and don't regret a penny of it!
  7. I had wine 3-1/2 weeks out. Could only drink 1/3 of the glass and now can only tolerate white not red. I'm in Las Vegas with my husband and had 2 glasses of white last night. I drank them over about 4 hours. They made me feel full so I drank slow but enjoyed them very much! I'm 6 weeks out.

    Please someone help me!

My mother takes synthroid and lost weight.
  9. Have you tried antacids? I felt hungry in the beginning all the time then started taking Pepcid 2x day and don't feel like that anymore. For me it was stomach acid making me feel hungry. Also it depends on what I eat as to whether I feel full. I always eat protein first so I very rarely am able to eat anything after ie potato, rice.
  10. It will heal but you have to baby it for a while. Mine went away around 3 weeks.

    Stupid 6 month diet requirement!

6 months seems so long but once you're rolling in for your new sleeve you'll be thinking "wow I can't believe this day is here already!" Take the time to really start taking care of yourself:)
  12. None of us had the willpower of a 10 before surgery or we wouldn't be getting the surgery. After surgery I think the the first couple of weeks are the toughest but once you start to feel better and start to see results I think it changes from having the willpower not to eat crap to wanting to eat better because you're feeling good about yourself.

    Sleeve vs. other WLS

If you go with the sleeve, I would ask how many your doctor has done. Mine only does the sleeve or bypass. He'll do the bypass for those who are super obese or have really bad GERD. To me the sleeve just seemed to make the most sense and I'm soooo happy I did it!
  14. That's awesome!!! Can't wait to say the same! Reminds me of a funny thing that happened to me. I was at a department store l hadn't been in before looking for a dress. I walked up to a sales associates and asked her where their dresses were and she looks at me and then whispers "the plus sized dresses are upstairs"! hahaha Yes I could've chosen to be really annoyed by this but I though it was hilarious she whispered it!
  15. Also, Exercise: Walking 4X week, plus slowly adding in free weights. Calories: 800 Protein: 60g Water....not enough but I'm working in it! I definitely think that tracking my food and exercise are key for me.
  16. Surgery Date: April 17 Stats on Surgery Day: 5' 4" - 214 lbs. Todays Weight: 195.2 Lost most of the weight the first week and this past week. Only lost about 3 lbs those 2 weeks in between and was beginning to feel like it wouldn't happen but sure enough I finally started to drop this past week!
  17. Boneless chicken from the crock pot cooked down with chicken broth was my staple. Sometimes I'd add a tbsp of lowfat sour cream, 2% shredded cheddar and some enchilada sauce. Yummo and it has ALOT of protein!

    Working with a Trainer post-op

Hey! My doctor said 3 to 4 weeks. Wednesday will be 4 weeks so I'll be starting the gym and if I need it a trainer sometime thereafter I'll get one. I had a personal trainer all last summer and loved it. Unfortunately, I ended up gaining weight because I didn't change my diet at all. But I felt strong and loved it. I've been walking 1 mile a day since 3 day post op, then 2 miles by my second week, last week did 5 miles one day and this week I'm going to try to start the Couch Potatoe to 5k and add weight training. Feeling great! You will too! Good luck
  19. Amazing! Congratulations!!!
  20. Wow! You look fantastic!!!

    Pain on right side?

Had the same thing and it was the stitch from the incision he (dr) did most of his work from. Try and baby it for a few days, it should go away.

    Starbucks

Also, I get a skinny vanilla latte with sf syrup and ff milk.

    Starbucks

I've been drinking regular caffeinated coffee since day 14. Doesn't bother me at all. I can only get down a half a cup. I make sure I drink an extra cup of water so the caffeine doesn't dehydrate me.

    Clear Vomit and droziness

No I just stopped drinking after I eat. I wait about 30 minutes after I'm done unless I still feel really ful then I just wait until it goes down. Try it if it doesn't work call your doctor!
