  1. Lately I'm feeling hungry but I know I can only eat few bites I guess it's head hunger :(

Sent from my iPhone using VST

I feel like that sometimes too. I'm 5 weeks post-op so I can't get much in but the first 3 weeks I kept picturing myself eating even though I wasn't able to eat.

  2. It will get better. It took me the better part of 6-7 weeks to finally feel like I didn't need a nap every day. I was struggling to get in enough calories and fluids mused with healing' date=' I NEEDED a nap every day. Lol Now, at 11 weeks tomorrow, I still only get in 550-800 cals a day ( which is still liw)but I am definitely not as exhausted. Hang in there, it will get better![/quote']

    Thank you. :)

That's me! I am in the napping stage! My poor kids are probably wondering what is wrong with me! LoL

  3. I will be 5 weeks post-op tomorrow.

I take my Vitamins and I have slowly been increasing my calories and Protein intake. I went from not being able to eat 200 calories a day a week ago to now I can do 600-700 and my protein went up as well...40-60grams. I know this is still not enough but I am working on it.

Well I'm pretty sure it's because of my low calorie and protein intake but I just need some reassurance but my energy is soooooooo low. My doctor cleared me to workout and eat whatever I wAnt as long as I can tolerate it. I have been eating healthy healthy healthy. I will never go back to junk food

I'm just feeling down because I can't seem to get myself to get up and do stuff!

Last week I had to days where I had some energy and I did an hour of dance central on both days! It felt great!!! I want to keep working out but I'm so tired!

Please reassure me this too shall pass. It's encouraging to hear your stories and advice.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. I was sleeved June 17. Lost 38 pounds including way I lost the week pre-op diet. This past week I only lost 1 pound. I'm kinda of glad it has slowed down cause my hair thinned out from losing so much weight so fast in 4 weeks.

I don't look forward to morning because that is when I have to take my meds and Vitamins. I take chewable vitamins and I don't have a problem with that but my anti-nausea pills, thyroid pills, stool softner, and omenprozole (spelled wrong, sorry)

But I take my time taking them. Nice and slow I sit down take them one at a time 2 if I feel brave. I found that if I take them with Gatorade I can tolerate them more.

It will get better for us. Our weight loss will slow down speed up and slow down again.

Right now I'm struggling To exercise. I still barely get in about 500 calories and 30 grams of Protein. So I am trying super hard to increase both! Especially my Protein.

Congrats on your surgery!!! Hang in there! Your definitely not alone!

  5. I called the insurance company and they tell me I'm approved for August 8th!! My first reaction was to scream of happiness but now I'm scared to fail and scared for any complications.. How do I get these feeling off my mind!!

Congrats!!!! I for sleeved 4 weeks ago today!!! I felt nervous about all that as well. Totally normal! We all go through it.

  6. Now that you are 4 weeks out' date=' do you feel normal? Do you have any regrets of your different eating habits?

Tomorrow is my first week. Everyday is getting better, but it saddens me, when I cannot drink Water as I used to, I hope that with time this changes.[/quote']

I still get sad at times and I even cry because I miss that feeling food used to give me. At 4 weeks I think I am still fairly new and getting used to it and I am learning to find other things to make me feel good instead of eating.

I am a total chugger when it come to Water and I find that I can actually drink bigger sips now then I did a couple weeks ago!

When I look in the mirror I don't see the weight. Loss but I do feel it in my clothes!

    My before weight was 230 and I am at 194! I'm 5'4

My shoulders and face are definitely noticeable or at least that's what people are telling me :)

  7. I can't stand it! I am almost 4 weeks post op and I started feeling itchy a couple weeks ago but last night it has become almost unbearable. I took Benadryl, applied calamine....it's all over my stomach and lower back. Is has to be from the surgery cause I never had this problem before!!

Anyone out there having this experience? I have my 2 follow up on Tuesday so I plan on talking to my doc about it but any ideas a would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

  8. I am 3 weeks post op

When I came out of surgery I was in so much pain and I thought it was the incisions. It turned out to be the gas pain. The gas pain was unbelievable to me. The incisions were a piece of cake. I have had c-sections and it was nothing like that.

It's true what they say walking makes it easier

  9. Hello my friends. Today is my 3 weeks post op.

I can get a lot more fluids in but I'm still struggling to get enough in to get to my Protein goal. I can only get about 200-300 calories in. I don't feel like eating but I am surely trying.

Is this normal? I have my 1 month appt next week and I plan on discussing it with them but I am just curious to how everyone is doing or did at 3 weeks out?

    Thanks in advance!!

  10. I am 10 days post sleeve (June 26) and I am so thirsty but can not get any Protein or for that matter any drink to feel comfortable in my belly. Advice please!!

I got sleeved June 17 and I am still struggling with my Protein intake and the thirst I feel is crazy! My mouth gets so dry that it makes me nauseous. What happens is I end up drinking Water the whole day and not eating anything :(

I'm still trying to get this right but since I'm not even a month out I'm trying not to be so hard on myself

I guess my point is your not alone. We will get this right :)
