  1. Are the "catches" located in the vicinity of your port? If so, until your body has sufficient time to create scar tissue around your port, it is easy to tweak it. Think about it, your port is sewn to muscle. Ouch! At least this is what my doc explained to me. I still get the catches occasionally & I have soreness at my port site all the time (especially if I lean on it). Hope this helps!
  2. You know everyone's pain threshold is different! Take it easy! LOL! & don't freak out if the area around the port stays sore. I am almost a year out & my port site still gets sore & even hurts sometimes. Hope you feel better soon!
  3. Lots of great advice has been given here! I hope you feel better soon!
  4. It's good to see you have your spunk back! I have my fingers crossed for you! I hope you keep your restriction!
  5. Sounds like you are doing great! Hang in there!
  6. I chew sugar free eclipse spearmint gum. It works for me.
  7. My port flipped shortly after surgery. Due to my surgeon traveling, & me traveling, it was almost 4 months before I could have the port revised. Then it took another 3 months before I was able to get any restriction through a fill. I have not had any other problems since this was fixed. (knock on wood).
  8. I'm so sorry Rica! ((((HUGS)))) My husband & I have suffered through 14 years of infertility. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me.
  9. Hey Zoe! Glad to see you're back! It's good to hear your surgery is behind you & that you are doing well!
  10. Hey Molly! We have the same birthday! Hope you are having a good one! Happy :banana :banana Birthday! :banana :banana
  11. Wow! You are doing great! I'm proud for you! I need to see if I can find my NSV list & do some updating myself! Keep the good things coming!
  12. I do need a new avatar. Here's another picture of me & my husband Lonnie. It was taken in the exact same place as my other avatar picture. & it was also taken 1 year after the other pic, to the day! I want to thank all of y'all for the help & support you have all given me over the past year! You all rock!!!
  13. I'm also a turtle. I am almost 1 year out & I have lost 55 lbs. I may be losing slow, but at least I am losing. Right?! Slow but steady. I had some problems at first with my fills & my port flipping . But once all of that was worked out & I finally got proper restriction, my weight loss has been steady. Plus I am trying not to approach this as a "diet", I'm trying to make lifestyle changes. If that makes sense. Hopefully I'm gonna have this band forever. I don't want to lose all my weight the first 3 months after surgery by starving myself & exercising like the energizer bunny, only to return to bad habits & bad choices, gaining it back again. So far it's working for me.
  14. Thanks Kristi for the info.! Thanks for bumping this Cathy!
  15. Thanks guys! I'm hoping it's a good one!
  16. I had to stay overnight. I did a barium swallow the next morning & then I was released. I get my fills under fluoro. I had no restriction after my first 2 fills. For my third fill, my doc filled my band to capacity, I swallowed barium & he slowly took saline out until the barium passed through the band. It worked! I finally have restriction & have lost steadily ever since.
  17. Way to go Alex! That's an awesome accopmplishment!

  20. Glad to see your home & getting better! Girlfriend, I'll be in the bed tonight too! My back is out! I'll take an extra dose of pain meds with you at midnight. LOL!! & Lonnie won tickets to a New Year's Eve party. Free alcohol & food! They're even taxiing people to the local hotels if they drink too much! That just sucks!! Hang in there. You know we're all here for you! Cheers!...............Love ya, Jess

....another one opens. I firmly believe in that! My horoscope did say to take it easy & rest for the rest of this week. Maybe the back pain is some kind of cosmic voodoo because I wasn't taking it easy. LOL!!
  25. He's absolutely precious!! Congrats!
