I missed all of you too! Now my back is trying to go out! I was being good too! Just bent over to get some clothes off the floor! Oh well. I've been here before!! I was working weekend option in a nursing home. 4 hours of sleep between 16 hour shifts was just not enough. I hated leaving some of my residents but I had to do what I had to do! But wow! I sure have missed out on a lot of stuff here! Sorry to hear so many of us are having problems!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone! I have been MIA due to a new job that turned out to be a bad experience. So I am back home & on the hunt for the perfect job again. LOL! Hope everyone has a happy, healthy & prosperous New Year!..............Jess
8. Congrats Jack! Happy belated Bandiversary!!
9.
I'm in too! This will be the first challenge I have participated in. Since it's a new year & will start on my B-day, I can't think of a better time for me to start my participation. I like the 1 NSV & the longer challenge.
1/3/06 - OOPS! I gained some weight over the holidays that just showed up this morning. What a great birthday present to myself! Okay so I'll have to work extra hard to get this 10 lbs back off again. So my official weigh in weight is 305 lbs. My goals are to at least lose 0.5 lb each week, & to limit my eating out to at least once a week. Good luck everyone!
10. Okay, so I finally got around to doing this. The first pic is about 1 month before surgery at my highest weight of 350 lbs. I don't have a scanner, so I had to take a picture of a picture. LOL! The second picture is 11 months after surgery & 55 lbs. gone. It was taken this Christmas in the boots & jeans my hubby gave me for Christmas. If someone would like to put these side by side & resize them, that would be great! Thanks!
11. Bumping this one too, cause it is sooooo...... good! I think this is what i'm gonna cook for supper!
12. Bumping....cause I can't think of anything to fix for supper! I noticed that there are a lot of new bandsters out there. Hopefully y'all will keep adding recipes to this thread. I come here when I'm out of ideas. Thanks!
13. It's hard to lose a snuggle buddy. I'm so sorry for your loss.
14. I just recently started working in a nursing home & a lot of the residents are on metamucil wafers that are apple flavor. One of my residents (who still has all of her faculties) told me that they are wonderful & really work if you know what I mean. I bought some just to try them & they do taste good, but they kind of stick to your teeth. LOL!
15. I'm so glad that you are doing well! You are truely a good person. I know you have meant a lot to a lot of people on this board! I'm glad to know that you will still be hanging around! Keep up the good work! You rock girlfriend!

18. 1. What does your handle mean? Jessiebear is what my 2 best friends in high school called me. 2. What book are you currently reading, or did you last read? The elusive flame (trashy historical romance) 3. What do you do for a living? I am an LPN & I work in a Nursing Home. 4. For what in your life are you most grateful? My Dear Husband who accepts me for whatever & whoever I am. 5. What's one thing about you that you think would surprise other people? That I have no extra special friend. I have had a few really bad experiences with "Best Friends" in the recent past. I am very guarded now! 6. One word to describe yourself? shy 7. One word others use to describe you? caring 8. Would you rather play a game with someone better or worse at it than you? Either. I would just enjoy the game & the time spent with that person. 9. Favorite movie? Favorite show? movie - dazed & confused, show - 2 1/2 men 10. Something unusual about yourself? I have stared at this screen for 10 minutes & I can honestly say, "I don't know!"
19. Thanks everyone! I was beginning to think I would never make it under the 300s!
20. Here's my recipe for Decorated Christmas cookies: 2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. almond extract Decorator frosting (recipe follows) candy/sugar/sprinkle decorations 1. Sift flour, baking powder & salt onto wax paper or into a bowl. Grease 2 cookie sheets. 2. Beat together butter & sugar in a seperate bowl until light & fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla & almond extract. Gradually stir in flour mixture to make a stiff dough (I use my hands after it starts to come together). If mixture is too dry, mix in 1 to 2 TBLS. milk. Shape into a ball & refrigerate until chilled (about 30 minutes). 3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 4. Divide dough into thirds. Roll out, one third ata a time, on a floured surface to a 3/8 inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutters in the shape of your choice. Place Cookies on prepared cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each. 5. Bake in preheated oven for 9-10 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Remove from cookie sheets to wire racks to cool. 6. After cooled, frost & decorate how you want. Decorator icing 1 egg white 1 1/4 cups sifted 10x powdered sugar 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar Combine all ingredients in a bowl & beat with an electric mixer at high speed until mixture forms stiff peaks. Tint whatever color you desire with food coloring. I use seperate little bowls for different colors. This icing will harden once you ice your cookies. If you use Christmas tree cookie cutters you can decorate the trees & then stack them on a serving plate using a little decorator icing to hold them in place & stack in the shape of a Christmas tree. You can cut out 1 cookie in the shape of a star & use decorator icing to secure it to the top of the stacked cookies. I've seen it done & it is really pretty! I make these cookies every Christmas & send them to work with my husband. I end up making them a couple of times cause the guys get upset if they don't all get to take some home. Happy Holidays!
21. I finally made it under the 300 lb. mark! I am at 299 lbs.!:banana
22. Hey everyone! I have listed a few coats & jackets on ebay if anyone is in the market for one. I wanted to let ya'll know, cause I know how hard it is to find decent clothing in my size. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5440037692&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZjesslon_auctionsQQhtZ-1
23. Happy :Bunny :Bunny Birthday! :Bunny :Bunny
24. I have had good & bad experiences buying jewelry on line. But the good out weigh the bad. Just make sure it states solid golid. I bought tons of jewelry on Ebay. I bought my engagement ring on Ebay & paid $400. It appraised for $1800. If you use Ebay, make sure to read the seller's feedback. I won't drop a lot of cash with any seller on Ebay unless they have been a seller for a few years, their feedback is 100%, & they have sold more than 100 items. I also bought a couple of cocktail rings for my Mom & G-ma for around $200- $300 (they both appraised over $1000). You can get some really good deals! Good luck!
25. You might try Dr. Luttrell. He's in Little Rock & did my surgery. He is super nice & I don't think he would have a problem with you being a patient from Mexico. Sorry about your bad first experience with your fill (((HUGS))). You can PM me if you want his number. Keep your chin up girlie!......Jess
