  1. Congrats! Happy belated Bandiversary!! Awesome job!!
  2. Congrats! Welcome to Band Land!! Walk, sip, gas-x, heating pad & let 'em rip! Hope you have a speedy recovery!!
  3. WOW Vines!! I just got goosebumps! I'm totally jealous! If I tried to belly dance they'd be wheeling me to the ER. You go girl!! Congrats!
  4. Good advice! I think I learned something! LOL!
  5. (((((HUGS))))) I don't think I can add anything here other than I have been exactly where you are. I probably would have considered GBP if my insurance would have covered it. I was self-pay. I have been a turtle from the beginning. But I am a little over 14 months out & I have lost 75 lbs. I have had 4 fills & I have very tight restriction right now. I was down in the dumps up until I had my last fill. I can't exercise due to back problems. I have a cousin who had GBP & last week I saw her for the first time in like 3 or 4 years. She looked great! She didn't know I had had WLS. When I told her, she assumed I had had GBP. She began to tell me all the problems she is having. That conversation made me feel a lot better about my choice. I hope you decide to give the band a try. It really does work. The progress is just slower. Hope you get to feeling better!
  6. It sounds to me like you are having more of a golf ball feeling. Try taking smaller bites & chewing to goo. Try drinking warm liquids before you eat. I have always had big problems with eating any kind of bread, potatoes & potato products & peanut butter. You might try laying off these items for a while & see if it helps. I was told to start with protein & if I'm still not "full" I could eat some veggies & or fruit. My doc & nutritionist said absolutely no bread or starchy foods. Hope this helps! If you truely think it is heartburn & you're having reflux, contact your doc & ask to maybe switch to Prevacid or Nexium. In my opinion, they are both better than Prilosec. I had reflux for years before I was banded. Once I was banded it disappeared!! Praise God!! If I never lost another pound the band would be worth it just to be rid of reflux! Hope it gets better for you!
  7. Welcome! Nice to meet you!
  8. Yep! You have restriction! Congrats! I have really tight restriction & had to learn the hard way. Try drinking really warm liquids before you eat. Like 30 mins before. Hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate all work great for me. Take tiny bites & "chew to goo," as Vinesqueen says. I have to swallow a bite, put my fork down & wait a few minutes between bites. It sucks eating cold food or having to rewarm it constantly, but it's better than golf balling!
  9. Gas is what I'm thinking too. Gas pains happen at the weirdest times & in the weirdist places after these kinds of surgeries. If you're not sure, call your doc. Hope it gets better for you!
  10. Welcome! Nice to meet you! A fudgecicle would be considered full liquids, not clear liquids. Sorry! If your doc says clear, stick to clear! Congrats on your band! Sounds like you are doing well & experiencing normal post surgery stuff. For the gas try walking, a heating pad, gas-x & other gas relief products, & if all else fails.............glycerine suppositories. Keep up the good work!
  11. You look great!!! Congrats! I know you have to feel like you're on top of the world. Thanks for sharing!
  12. Congrats! Happy belated Bandiversary! Awesome job!
  13. WOW! Congrats! I'm so happy for you! I'm especially happy that you're pleased with the outcome & that you have had a relatively easy time of it. You give me hope for my future PS (which is a long ways off in the future). Take it easy! Can't wait to see your pics!!
  14. WOW!! Congrats!! I can only hope to be where you are someday! You have done an awesome job banded & unbanded!! Definately an inspiration for me!!
  15. Happy Bandiversary!! Congrats on your success! You look marvelous darling!!!!
  16. Welcome back!! Happy belated Bandiversary!! Congrats on the -96lbs!! So sorry for your loss. CHF is terrible. I can totally relate with the BP meds. I didn't have BP problems until a couple of months after banding. I've been thinking lately that I may need to come off my meds too. I'm watching it though. Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! It's good to have you back!

    OHHHHHHHHHHHH!! He's precious!!
  18. Too cute!! LOl!!! Happy Easter!!!
  19. The best part of it all was buying size 18-20s!!! I can't get in them yet, but they are the next size I will be wearing. I haven't been that size in like 16 or 17 years!!! I can't wait! I was actually a size 18 from the 5th grade up until I met Lonnie. It'll be amazing when I get there!! Don't worry, I'll let you all know when it happens.
  20. Thank you everyone. Your kind words & prayers mean so much to me & my family. She is finally out of pain. No more suffering. She was such a wonderful person. She was so spiritual. She even wrote her own psalms. I didn't know this until the funeral. It was awesome! The Psalm of Debbie. I can only hope to live my life by following her example. She would love all of you! Thank you so much! My heart breaks for my Uncle & their children.
  21. WOW!! Congrats!! Hope you have a speedy recovery!
  22. I got back from Georgia last Thursday. While I was there, I got my Grandma out of the house & we hit the consignment shops & thrift stores. WOW!! I came home with 2 trash bags full of clothes for a little over $100! I found 2 pair of new Eddie Bauer jeans for $5 a piece!! I couldn't believe it. :faint: Second hand stores rock!! I just wanted to tell everyone about this. I know how expensive it can get when you have to buy a new wardrobe every couple of months. Good luck hunting!
  23. Welcome to band Land! Hope you have a speedy, pain & gas-free recovery!!
  24. I loved avocados mushed up with garlic powder, lemon juice & a little salt. I also loved refried beans with enchilada sauce & cheese. Just be careful with the cheese. If you are really tight it can get stuck pretty easy. Just take small bites of the cheese. Applesauce is wonderful too! Congrats & good luck!
  25. I like them too! I have been eating them for a while. I like the chocolate & peanutbutter ones the best so far. I haven't tried the apple cinnamon ones yet. Now that I'm so tight I have a hard time eating the whole thing. Lately I have been drinking the vanilla flavored boost shakes. They're small & tastey! The chocolate boost sucks in my opinion.
