  1. My port was tilted also. I had a lot of pain at the port site almost immediately after surgery. I just thought it was surgical pain. When I went for my first fill my doc couldn't access it. Had to make another appt. for it to be done under fluoro. Sure enough it was flipped. My doc repaired it in a procedure that took 2 hours. Not a big deal at all. opened the same incision. He didn't charge me anything. The hospital charged me $700. Good luck!

  2. I was banded in January 2005. I was exactly 350 lbs when banded. I have had problems with my port flipping & having a doctor who is as new to this surgery as I am. So although I have lost only 25 lbs. I feel soooo..... much better. Now that he has hired a nurse that came from the Lap-band clinic in Dallas, who knows all of the ins & outs of fills, I think we are finally on the right track. I started out just sitting on a blanket on the floor & stretching. Just look up stretching exercises on the web. My husband also bought me an exercise ball that is shaped like a peanut that helps with my stretching also. I always felt like the round balls would shoot out from under my big booty like a missile. LOL!! I have a very bad back & was scared of trying exercise. But this works for me. I recently started walking on my treadmill about a half a mile at least twice a week. I have also been taking my 2 cousins swimming a couple times a week in my Mom's pool. I can lose 5 lbs. overnight just by swimming with the two war whoops. I highly recommend swimming! My Mom has an above ground pool. It's awesome! Well good luck!

  3. Here's a good one! I had worked really hard for a summer with one of my Aunts helping me to lose 100 lbs. I was feeling good about myself & got a job bagging groceries at a supermarket. I had worked so hard this day & it was well past time for me to have had a lunch break. It just so happened that one of the checkers was being trained to be a night time supervisor. When I approached her to ask about my lunch break (with all of the teeny boppers hanging around her mind you) she replied with a sneer, " You don't need a lunch!" That hurt! & I was too embarassed to go to the management.

  4. I had my band placed in January & the gas was HORRIBLE!!!! Nothing worked until I discovered glycerine suppositories. They work surprisingly well!! I'm a med-surg nurse & I remembered one of the surgeons giving me an order for the suppositories for someone that had post-op gas pains. I thought he was crazy! I guess when you are desperate you will try anything! I promise they work. LOL! Good luck & hang in there!

  5. My Great-Grandma had cataracts on both eyes & had recently had one eye fixed. At my Aunt's baby shower she proceeded to exclaim, "Jessie! You're fat! (which I have been since age 5)." Then she told one of my Aunts that she had a lot of wrinkles. To which my Aunt replied, "Keep it up old lady & we won't get your other eye fixed!" My family's crazy!! LOL!!
