  2. Hey Bridget! I'm doing great! I'm so glad you got your fill! Sorry it took 7 sticks. Ouch!!!! Dr. Luttrell's office called me about a month ago wanting me to come in for an EGD. They have recently started doing that for all of their patients that are a year or more out. I just have to work up the courage to do it now. I'm not having problems or anything, but I'm still scared! I have been on a long plateau. I'm not gaining, just maintaining! I'm glad you are doing so well! & wtg on the 62 lb. loss!! Keep it up girl!!!

  3. Hi! Like flower my port also flipped shortly after surgery. My doc was unable to access it & I had to have a outpatient procedure to correct it. I was self-pay & it cost me $500 or $600. There was really no recovery with this procedure compared to the actual lap band surgery. At the time it seemed like a really big thing to me. Now it just seems like a bump in the road on this long journey I have been on. Good luck to you! Don't stress too much over this. It's a easy repair.

  4. Ummmm......... portion sizes are different for everybody. Especially until you get good restriction or any restriction really. & then it depends on how restricted you are. Just eat until you are satisfied. Chew everything very well & eat very slowly. Ideally we are supposed to eat a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of total food at one sitting. I was told to eat my Protein first & if still not full to eat my veggies & fruit. Until I had restriction, I could eat like I did before the band.

  5. I mourned food for a while. I think it lasted til I got good restriction. Food use to be my life. All I could think about was what will I eat next! Now, unless it's the fresh fruits & veggies that are in abundance right now, I don't even think about food. At least not the bad foods. Now conversations about eating go something like this - Lonnie: "What's for supper?" Me: "I don't know. What do you want?" Lonnie: " I don't know. What do you want?" Me: "I don't want anything. WHAT DO YOU WANT?!?" This is also the conversation that we have when we go out to eat. It's quite maddening sometimes. You will all get here. It just takes time. Food doesn't rule me anymore.

  6. Okay, so who else, besides me is enjoying the fresh fruits & vegetables this summer? Right now in Arkansas the peaches, watermelons & cantalopes are ripe & in abundance. Lonnie went & picked me some peaches yesterday & man are they good! But let's don't forget the fresh veggies! Cucumbers, green Beans, fresh pinto beans, corn, squash, TOMATOES, eggplants, zucchini, purple hull peas - I could go on, but I'll stop. This is what we are getting out of mine & my Grandma's garden right now. I love this time of year!!! Anyone else enjoying their fresh fruits & veggies? Sorry! I had to gush a little.:hungry:

  7. I sent my gift out to my secret sam today. I sent it priority mail to South Dakota & they said it should be there by Monday. If I don't hear from her by Monday evening I will reveal myself to her. I'm so excited!! I found some deals today that were more like steals!!!! Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!!
