  8. All I can say, is the one time I tried Jenny Craig, I hated the food. I did ok on optifast. I wish I could have some of the optifast shakes and Soups now. All the Protein drinks/powders I have now make me want to gag.
  9. My NUT says that I cannot have raw vegetables until 4 months post op.
  10. I had to give myself Lovenox shots for 2 weeks. Today was the last day.
  11. I had my surgery on March 18th. I did really well the first week, but this past week I have had alot of nausea and not getting my protein and water in. I am sooooo sick of the protein shakes. They are too sweet and it makes me want to gag. I did better yesterday and hopefully I will do ok by the end of today. What are the rest of you that had surgery on the 18th allowed to eat now?
  12. I am allowed to use honey in a cup of hot tea
  13. I am with you. I had my surgery March 19th. I can't stomach the protein drinks. Just thinking about them gags me. I am having problems getting my protein and water in due to nausea.
  14. I started my pre op diet at 421. The day of surgery (3.18.13) I was 401. Yesterday at the dr office I was 384. It seems to be working for me. THe only complaint that I have is that I still take quite a bit of medication and it keeps me nauseous. I was told today that I could have some split pea soup with the medication, to see if it helps with the nausea.
  15. I called the doctor's office today and was recommended split pea soup or egg drop soup. I tried some split pea this evening and it seemed ok. THanks for all of your suggestions though
  16. I know I am not suppose to have lentils yet, but I may have to give it a try. RIght now, I am not getting my protein and water in like I should be, because of being nauseous from the medications I still have to take.
  17. I am really not one to cook. I would prefer to buy it already made. I am not sure how i would handle vegetables. I dont think I am suppose to have soft vegetables until my 4th week post op.
  18. I tried some Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, but it didnt really help. I need something with a bit more substance to help when I take my medications. Other than the nausea from taking my pills, I am not having any problems post op. Thanks for the advice
  19. I was never able to find them before surgery, but when I went for my surgery they put a pair on me. For now, I am suppose to wear them at night.
  20. I know that some of you are allowed puree soups early on. What kind do you eat? Can I just take a can of Progresso chicken noodle and puree it? I have been having problems with nausea because I still take quite a few pills. I am still on my liquid phase, but got the ok for puree soups to help when taking my pills. I was just curious in knowing what kind of soups others are eating. BTW, I am 10 days post op.
  21. I had my sleeve done on 3.18.13. The gas pains haven't been so bad for me. Yesterday was the first day since surgery that I really wanted to eat something. The protein drinks are getting harder to get down.
  22. I got sleeved on the 18th also. I came home yesterday and am doing well. I havent felt hungry, havent really felt nauseous and the pain has improved. I really dont have any complaints at the moment. I hope everyone else did well with their surgeries.
  23. Try and relax. I had my sleeve done on Monday and everything went fine. I had alot of pain but once I was given the pain medication, I was ok. I came home yesterday afternoon. THe pain is much better than when I was in the hospital. I havent had too much nausea. I almost have 35 grams of protein in me and the day is still young. Just do what your doctor says to do and you should be fine.
  24. I have my surgery tomorrow also! I am not really worried, I know it is something that I must do. Try and relax. Tomorrow, our new journey begins! I am excited!
  25. Dr. Korman will be doing my sleeve tomorrow.
