Boobs?
I think smaller might be better if you are athletic and like fitted clothing. Like a smaller C cup or a very full B cup. Sometimes I think a larger chest can make us look heavier than we really are.

Boobs?
Agree--and sometimes you can do a smaller band size/bigger cup size or bigger band size/smaller cup size. The lady I really like who has fitted me in the past feels you get better support from the smaller band size and bigger cup size vs the other option.

PB & J Smoothie
do you happen to know the calorie/fat/carb/protein count?

Lesson learned
sorry you experienced this! At least our bodies let us know what they need, even if it's not always pleasant.

Lesson learned
Did you drink before or after you ate? I find that I am okay following my surgeon's instructions to wait 15 minutes after drinking before I eat but that after eating, sometimes I have to wait longer than the 30 minutes that he recommends. I can sort of tell when my body is ready for some fluid after I've eaten. Sometimes it's right at 30 minutes but sometimes it's more like 45--usually when I eat fibrous veggies.

Has the sleeve not worked for you?
It probably depends on someone's definition of "working."

The use of surgical masks in the OR in Mexico
yikes...that would worry me, too.

something apropros Oprah said once--re: "the easy way out"
Thanks for the response, Susan. If you've read this thread, I'm sure that you will see this isn't happening with the poster in question. She is not a "supporter" and she is not here to participate, learn, educate or be educated. Just wants to stir the pot. It is one thing is someone wants to learn from others and is open to learning--but if he or she is here just to be hostile and attack others on a support forum--it's pretty counterproductive.

Two and 1/2 Years Out, Life is Great, but have one Question
Congratulations on your weight loss and your daughter's too! Have you had your HbA1c checked? Are you seeing an endocrinologist? I would suggest a work-up with an endocrinologist, preferably one who sees post-bariatric surgery patients regularly. Also, maybe if you ate some Protein along with the candy, it would keep your blood sugar more stable?

Pickles
I was able to eat peels on veggies and fruits at 6 weeks and haven't had any issues so far. I just make sure that I chew very well. Based on your surgeon's guidelines, I would peel the pickle (just like peeling a cucumber).

Issues with ursadiol/actigall medication?
Before I was on purees, I broke up the capsule and put it in some Propel (like a shot glass amount). Stirred it with the tip of a paring knife. A little bitter but pretty easy to get down.

Low Carbers question?
PS--Greek yogurt has fewer carbs--get the unflavored and add SF syrups if you want. The fruit flavors won't work--too high carb.
-
Low Carbers question?
You can do yogurt and cheeses as long as you count the carbs.

Issues with ursadiol/actigall medication?
My Ursodiol is in capsules with powder inside. I break open and stir into a little (like a TBSP) SF applesauce.

My 1 year surgery anniversary is today!
You look amazing...congratulations! I like how your cat wanted to take advantage of the photo opp, btw.

How long we're you out of work?
Holy moly! don't know how you did that. I was on my feet cooking for about 3 hours for a special meal about 2 weeks post op, and I was exhausted! I was back to work within a few days, but I have a desk job and I work at home.

Birth Control
I would ask your surgeon and your ob/gyn about this--but I would also recommend using a back-up birth control method (such as a barrier method) for a while before and after surgery, b/c your surgery really does do crazy things to your hormones. I believe both from the shock to your system and also estrogen from the adipose tissue loss.

Constipation reason?
You aren't eating a high volume of food and probably not high fiber. Have you tried Benefiber or Miralax? My surgeon's office says to take something if it's been 3 days but I wait no longer than 2. I find that now that I drink coffee every day and eat a lot of veggies that I am going every day. Also important to say hydrated, as previously mentioned. Exercise helps keep things going, too.

This was a really funny post! I told my RD about the NUT terminology. She is a totally pleasant person but found it puzzling, bc she isn't even called a nutritionist and basically anyone can call him/herself a nutritionist regardless of training. She is an RD/LD (registered/licensed dietitian). So when I post about her I just say "my RD." And RD is even shorter than NUT. Even though this post was in jest, I have always wondered how the term NUT became popular. Do other people's RDs say it, or are they not RDs, or did other people read it here from someone posting it and follow suit? Hmm....

Just not feeling it
yes....your body is repairing and reenergizing. Try to get in at least 48 oz of fluid and as much protein as you can. It will help you feel better faster

10 week post op appointments
Congratulations, LifetimeLoser! That's wonderful!

something apropros Oprah said once--re: "the easy way out"
btw at 5 foot 3, "only" being 30 lbs overweight isn't meaningless--it can actually put someone in the "obese" category based on the BMI tables.

Might be a nice time for a moderator to jump in. I don't think it's appropriate for someone who hasn't even had VSG (and who isn't planning on it) who is in attack mode against people who had the surgery to be allowed to continue posting here. Since I started this thread--which did start as super positive and was meant for support--I felt it was appropriate that I report momto6ix when she started spewing her hatred and ignorance. However, that was about a week ago, and I have not received a response. It's one thing to disagree, but if someone wants to come here and take out her relationship problems on others, I really don't think that it's fair, nor is it the goal of a WLS support site. I would encourage others who are disturbed by these rants to report her as well. I'm sure the moderators are busy--and I appreciate that they offer this site. Perhaps that will get their attention.
