  1. I finally went to my hairdresser once I could no longer hide the baldness. She said there's no miracle cure. Biotin will keep ends from breaking, but does not promote hair growth, though she said it won't hurt to keep taking it. She said the hair growth can move along faster with scalp stimulation. She said Listerine on the scalp helps stimulate it, massaging the scalp helps to stimulate it and even standing on your head does. So I'm just trying to be patient and I know I will get through this too. *sigh*

  4. I'm 5 months post op and have lost about a basketball size of hair!!! I cried a lot! I can't part my hair because there is bald spots everywhere I part. I wear my hair EVERYDAY pulled up in a messy ponytail to hide the baldness. My hair was very thin to start with and I can't believe all the hair I've lost. Sure hope it stops before I'm completely bald!
  5. I was told no as well, but I started using one about 3 weeks ago. I'm only 8 weeks into this. I've had no problems at all
  6. Dill pickle relish! Brillant idea!!! Why didn't I think of that!!! Thank you everyone!!!
  7. I'm 7 weeks out and can pretty much eat what I want. I really want to put some chopped up pickles in my tuna. Do you think I have to peel off the skin first? Or should I avoid the pickles altogether? Or leave the skin on? The paper the doctor gave me told me to take off all peels, is that considered a peel?

  9. I've been eating watermelon since 2 was post op. my surgeon said it was great for me because when you chew it, it breaks down to water. It's one of my must haves!
  10. 4-6 oz??? I'm three weeks out too but if I even dreamed of eating that much, I would get so sick! I'm lucky if I can get down 2 oz at most! What am I doing wrong?
  11. Now I'm scared. I'm post menopausal. I'm 54 y/o. I thought it was just stress from the surgery and going back to work this week and on top of that catching this miserable cold. Now I'm scared.
  12. I'm almost 3 weeks post op and have come down sick with a chest cold. The coughing is killing me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can take for it? Also, is it possible to cause light spotting of blood from coughing so hard? I haven't had a period in over ten years!

  14. You guys are AWESOME!!!!! I'm going to copy your routine, if you don't mind, and see how it works for me. I have no problem following the program, but nobody ever explained how much and how often...hence my overeating. They just gave me a list of which foods I could eat during which week, and that's it. Thank you soooooo much! I think this will make things so much easier for me!
  15. Yes, they said I was overeating and the pain was the way my "new" stomach was telling me it had enough. Today I've only consumed 25 oz because I'm afraid of overdrinking. I mean after 4 oz of broth, when should I drink again? I'm so afraid I've already done damage that I'm afraid to do anything!
