  1. Hey Michael, once I had the surgery I stayed on plan for three or four months. No alcohol. Then I introduced a glass of wine every now and then. After a while I had a glass of scotch every now and then. Now 6 months out and 110 lbs lost, I just returned from a week long motorcycle trip with the guys. I drank alcohol everyday including beer and ate anything I wanted. I did gain a couple of pounds and now I'll have to get back to the plan and stay away from bad food and drink again but you can hang out with the guys. It's just like everything else. Moderation.

  2. Any motorcycle riders out there? I was sleeved in March. I've lost 105lbs. I'm experiencing something I never thought would happen. The center of gravity has change when I ride my bike. It's a wonderful thing when I'm riding solo but when I have my girlfriend on the back (she weighs about 160lbs) I have a lot of problems holding the bike up going around slow turns and coming to a stop. I'm an experienced rider with 50 years of motorcycling under my belt so it's not a case of the newbies.

I'm not complaining mind you. I'll take the weight loss over a little instability anytime. I'm just a bit surprised of this one change in my life I never expected.

  3. I was sleeved on March 20th. One night in the hospital and back at work on the 27th. I'm still in the full liquid stage and I'm having no problems getting them in. I'm getting about 50 grams of Protein in a day. I'm down 11 lbs since surgery and over 30 including pre op. I can't wait til I can start puréed foods. Looking forward to chewing again and I'm really curious about how my new sleeve will react to food.< /p>

  4. Have u tried a creamy Soup

Hi Nicole, yes I had some cream of chicken soup. I really didn't like so I only had a few ounces. I know this is head hunger and I'm missing eating. Between my pre-op diet and post op stages I've been on a liquid diet for almost a month. Today at work they brought in pizza for everyone. I went for a walk hoping I could avoid being around it. But, it was all still there when I got back. I think that's when it started.

I'm feeling better now and appreciate that in just over 3 1/2 weeks over lost over 30 lbs. I'm just whining. How you doin?

  5. Sorry I'm not a March Sleever. But I was sleeved in Jan . After surgery felt like I was starving all the time !!!!! I had to then switch to dense Protein which helped soooo much !!!!!! eggs ' date=' Beans , yogurt ![/quote']

I can start on pureed next week. I hope that happens for me. I'm 9 days out, still on liquids and today I am starving. I feel like I could eat anything although I won't for fear of blowing out my sleeve at this point.

  6. Hi there! I still feel pain at that incision too. It's almost gone at this point. How are you doing getting in your Proteins? I've tried but unable to get 60-70 grams in so far. So glad you're doing well and happy with your surgery!! Me too!!

Yeah, not so good on the Protein yet. I'm getting about 40 grams in but the doc said not to worry about that yet. I think I can squeeze in 60 tomorrow though. Good luck on your journey!

  7. So today marked day 6 of my pre-op diet. I've generally been doing pretty good with it. I realize I have to do this and I've put my mind to it to get it done. Today was a very busy day. We've recently finished our basement and I had lots to do building shelves and hanging pictures. Right after I started working my knees started to throb. Then my back began to ache. After about an hour I got nauseas and a bit woozy. I struggled through the rest of the day taking many breaks and resting my knees and my back.

Once the day was done, I took a shower and realized why I'm about to have life changing surgery in 10 days. Sure, I'd like to look hot again (or as hot as a 60 year old guy can) but after today the real reason came out. I can't live anymore carrying about 150 lbs of extra weight. Although my doc says I'm the healthiest fat guy he's ever seen, I know that if my joints and muscles are breaking down so badly from this weight, the rest of my body can't be far behind.

Looking good will be a great side affect from my surgery but truly the best benefit will be being healthy once again.

  8. Hello All,

I'm new to this forum. My surgery is scheduled for March 20th and my surgeon is Dr. Chau out of Princeton, NJ. Anyone out there ever use him? I'm 59 years old, 5'7" tall and currently weigh 335lbs. I can't wait for my surgery date to get here so I can start my new life.
