  1. I hated the puréed phase. I felt the same way. Nothing puréed wanted to go or stay down. Turns out, my sleeve hates purée, to this day I can't do it and I'm 1yr out. I ate a lot of yogurt and vegetarian chili that I pulverized with my teeth during the purée stage to get calories in. You're not alone in this.

  2. I had to stop one of my meds completely because it did not agree with my sleeve at all. I also had to change one of my meds from extended release to the regular kind and take it 2x/day instead of once in the am. No big deal though, it was worth it for the surgery.

  3. I had my surgery at age 21 and I'm 1year 2 months out. -110 pounds. I was also a low BMI sleeve at 35 but Apple shaped so it was a higher health risk. Your sons eating habits sound a lot like mine. I've been a vegetarian since I was 9 and really health conscious, but I was eating enough healthy vegetarian food to feed three people at each meal!! The sleeve has been a great tool for me and my only regret at this point was not doing it sooner. I hated exercise and now I see the ability to do it as a gift, since my weight was causing me to have mobility issues. Heck, I have. a career promoting a health club and selling memberships!!! If he's ready to really commit, then he should do it. I love myself for the first time since I can remember.

  4. My new life is amazing. Physically, of course I'm better. But the mental transformation has myself and everyone around me amazed. I'm a year and 2 months out and wow!!

I mean, who ever thought I would make a living selling GYM MEMBERSHIPS ??? I'm a completely new person for the better.

My day is typical for a normal person, minus a lot of the food, plus more exercise.

I see you posted this in Feb. How did your surgery go??

  5. Kathy, thanks for refreshing this thread! Notified me via email and brought me back to the forum!

Update- swallowing still makes my tummy uncomfortable because of the semen's consistency, but my doc said not to worry! :D

  6. I'm so nervous! My ex was with me through the whole process of me getting sleeved and the recovery.

My new guy wasn't there ( oh how I wish he had been there instead) and he didn't meet me until a 60 lb loss. I haven't slept with him yet and I'm so nervous to!!

  7. When I told my new guy, it brought us closer. Turns out he had grown up watching his mom battle obesity and he was just super impressed that I took control of it at a young age. I think you should just tell him. If he doesn't love every bit of you, then he's not the right one. Try not to turn the sleeve into your "deep dark secret". Be proud of it!! You worked hard for it!

  8. Most of the time I'm so happy about being sleeved. I feel fantastic, I'm starting to look hot, I feel more in control, etc.

But, once in a while I get sad that I can't go out and act like a normal 21 year old at a party. Mild occasional regrets. Anybody else experience this?

  9. Psychologically, I'm at the worst stall ever!!!! Been weighing in between 201-202 for a week! Why can't I just hit ONEderland already???

    Technically I don't even think it's a stall, it's just torture! Lol

Weight loss -wise I'm doing great!

    Surgery 2-12-13!!!

And just discovered that edamame is one of my slider foods... *sarcastic* woo!

I love reading everyone's progress!! Keep it up!!

  10. Was this the first time you have done it since surgery' date=' and how long had it been before surgery? I think this only happened because its the first time going in your new stomach. I would say try again tomorrow and see what happens![/quote']

I will definitely have to try it again then! It was my first time since surgery and it had been a couple of months prior to that since I'd swallowed.

  11. Okay ladies! I'm going to try and keep this as clean as I can but its a sex thing so it's definitely adult content!

Have any of you had issues with "swallowing" since being sleeved? I went down on my new guy tonight and my sleeve was KILLING me after! I felt like I had eaten too much too fast and then chugged a bunch of Water within 5 minutes. It's starting to go away now but it's a few hours later and it's still really uncomfortable.... I hadn't eaten before of anything so my sleeve was empty.

I'm almost 4 months out... Why does it hurt so bad???? Am I never going to be able to "swallow" again??? *panicked face*!! Help !!!

I mean, It's not like you can portion it ;p
