5 Days Post-Op!
It is very difficult to pop a stitch, especially since you won't be eating anything for quite some time. Gas and bloating won't affect it. It will take you a good week or two until the gassiness goes away. Gas-X Strips can help as will walking. Acid reflux is a common side effect and should get better as you heal. Hope that helps.

You're going to get high and not be able to eat??

"Eating-too-fast syndrome".... anyone else?
Same here. It's difficult to gauge how much I can eat until it's almost too late.

Hans Schmidt out of Hackensack. He did mine and I was thrilled. Used to date a surgeon who assisted him once and she said he was brilliant.

The beloved "Food Funeral".
All very noble but since I wasn't given a pre op diet, I ate like a complete frigging maniac. There was less than 3 weeks between my initial consultation and my surgery during which I gained 10 lbs. Not the healthiest choice but it certainly was memorable.

WATERMELON!?
It's on the recommended list starting Phase 2.

Having a setback
It's the first thing I thought of. Maybe you can have it declared medically necessary and get it free from the government.

LIQUID TIRED
Depends upon your surgeon but that's usually after about 4 weeks.

Well I'm a slow loser
The slower you lose, the tighter your skin will be. I think it's a positive.

When do you stop feeling hungry?
The puree phase is the hardest because you never really know what to eat and it's hard to gauge when to stop eating. To some extent I still have the problem and I am into my 8th week. I am trying to eat healthy and pretty much succeed but I am experimenting with trying some not so healthy things. The way I look at it is that given the amount I am able to eat at a sitting, there is no way I can OD on calories. Had like 4 french fries with my grilled chicken yesterday before being to full to continue. Had 1/2 fajita for dinner last night which felt like a bit too much. Takes time to get to know what your body will tolerate and what it won't but it's all part of the process.

Force protein or just get liquid in?
I used to mix it with either Gatoraid or Vitamin Water. Straight, the taste is pretty rough.

How much weight did you loose pre-op?
Gained 9.

insurace denial.
Your surgical coordinator should handle things like this for you.

Closet Eater....and I'm coming out!
The good news is that you will be full very quickly with a small amount of food. Keep some low fat cheese sticks, sugar free ice pops, individual portions of apple sauce, etc on hand. That way if you are grazing, you're not taking in all that many calories.

Help. I cheated
I wasn't given a preop diet. 3 slices of pizza the week before surgery would have been a light snack for me.

I am now a master farter!
Perhaps you should alert the media.

Choking on Acid
Same thing happens to me maybe once every two weeks. I usually just chew a few Pepcid Complete tablets, rinse with Listerine and go back to bed.
