  1. I am going through the same thing as you are... and I would have said screw it by now too..lol..but you're right.. we can't ..no room for a binge ..it will happen.. I know more than anything it's a mind thing..cause when have you ever lost 18 pounds in 3 weeks??? But I am the same way.. I guess in our minds the fat would melt off in no time..and it will..we just want instant gratification.. that's why all my other "diets" failed..now you have lots of people going through the same thing as you..and we can vent to each other.. :) take care.. it will work

I'm in the 3 week stall phase right now. Two days and no weight loss. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but after loosing a pound a day since surgery it sucks. LOL. I'm with you this would be the time that I would be on my way to McDonalds for a big mac and fries and large coke. Now I CAN'T do it and thats what is helping me. I'm just trying to stay positive and keep drinking my Protein Shake and Water this morning.

    Good Luck to everyone stalling.

  2. My NUT wants me between 60-70 g a day. Please be cautious of when you go offon your own. I'd hate to see you hurting. This is not said to be negative or discouraging. It's said out of caring that you succeed, promise.

JolieBug....Thanks! I guess what I SHOULD have said is she doesn't want to advance me to food UNTIL I get my Protein in. As far as my sleeve, It can handle the pureed stage she just doesn't want me to fill up on "food" and not get the Protein in first.

I got somenew Protein shakes and this morning I was able to drink the whole shake (11oz) in about 2 1/2 hours. 38 Grams of protein in!!!!!! Slowly working to my NUT's required amount of 80 grams. Tomorrow I'm going to try the Protein Shake for Breakfast and then 'sip' on Isopure and Crystal Light through out the day. That should do the trick!

    Hope you are doing well.

    LOL! Perfect analogy!

  3. How much Protein does she want you to be getting? I'm doing this on my own so I don't know what is the right amount

    ..

She WANTS me to get 80 grams a day. I know thats a lot right. I bought a few Protein Shakes including the Isopure today to try and find SOMETHING I like that has more protein than the Adkins that I was drinking.

I started myself on a little food on my own. I ate 1/2 an egg made into egg salad and some refried Beans with sour cream and cheese. I'm sick of being on liquids. Its been a month. My mother had gastric bypass in October so I'm using her as an example as to what to eat.

    Good luck to you.

  4. I just ate my first egg since being sleeved. Tomorrow is my two week follow up with my Dr. I figgure it was safe to try. I made it VERY soft and added a little mayo. It was like eating the inside of a deviled egg.

It went down pretty good. A little pressure in the middle of my chest a few times. Needless to say I didn't eat much and my dog enjoyed the majority of it.

As of today I've lost 20.5 lbs which includes my pre-op loss of 7 lbs. I'm extreamly happy with the progress so far.

  5. So I'm 11 days post op and I feel fantastic. I had a hard time getting my Protein in but think I found a solution and wanted to share with anyone else struggling. I mix have Atkins Dark chocolate Protein Drink and half skim milk. Its not too thick and no after taste. So far its working wonderful. Almost feels like I'm drinking chocolate milk. Well I guess I am in a way. I hope all March sleevers are doing well. Good luck to the last few that are being sleeved this month.

  6. I am in Lafayette and hoping to get sleeved in mid April. My doctor is Carson Cunningham.

My insurance will not cover the surgery so I am private pay.

I am a little nervous about this new journey and would like advice from any of you.

Dr. Cunningham did my mom's gastric bypass. She likes him a lot and received great care from his staff and the hospital. Good luck to you.

  7. Kodiesmom, i felt the same way at first. I thought id never get that pukey Isopure shake down after surgery, but all i did was add some blueberry crystal light & i couldnt believe the improvement. It went from yuck to almost yummy. Recently i bight the vanilla whey powder from costco. Today i opened it &added half if a scoopful to non-fat Greek yogurt & voila! It was like eating cheesecake! Keep trying. You'll find something that works for your tastebuds.

What flavor of isopure did you mix with the blueberry crystal light.

  8. That's what I drink! It's the best!! The one I found that has the best flavors! You can add moo, crystal light or any flavor Water Enhancer to the juice flavors to help of you need it. Lemon ice is soo good with and extra shot of lemon flavor just like Lipton ice tea!

Because of your great reviews I just orded the lemon tea. It should be here by Monday. Getting sleeved Tomorrow at 10:30. Super excited.

  9. Hi everyone. So I find my nerves are getting the best of me. I'm not scared but I am starting to have a melt down. What am I doing? Friday is coming so fast. I'm just ready for it to be done and over. Are these feelings normal?

Tricie, I'm with you on Friday. I've had surgery before and never felt as nervous as I do now but I know once I get that "I don't give a darn" shot before surgery all will be well. Best wishes to you TOMORROW....

  10. Pre-op appointment was yesterday. I'm all cleard and ready to go. Best news I got yesterday was that I DID NOT have to drink a bottle of Magnesium Citrate. YAY!!! :) Also found out that my leak test is done in the operating room so I won't have to drink anything nasty and do X-rays!!! Double YAY !!!! :)

I'm all set for surgery on Firday. Good luck to everyone getting sleeved today and tomorrow.

Will try and update on Friday afternoon or Saturday about the surgery.

  11. It's getting so close. Friday I will be a sleever. I can't believe that this week in finally here. I went shopping this weekend for things that I will need in the hospital and when I come home. Also shopped for the family so they can fix easy meals for themselves.
