    Tomorrow

One day out and feeling great! The first few hours sucked. They said they gave me meds but I still hurt. I'm kind of a baby when it comes to pain. Now I only hurt when getting up to talk or use the bathroom. I'm pretty thirsty but I should start liquids today thanks for the support

Reason for Pre op liquid diet?

I'm allowed 3 shakes a day. Must equal at least 60grams of protein (my dr's requirement for women) I can also have all the calorie free liquids I want, sugar free jello, and broth. I started on may 9th and I've dropped 8.5lbs so far. The first 3 days SUCKED!!!!!!!! Now it's not that hard, I actually only get hungry after I drink a shake. It's like my tummy gave up on food and when I drink a shake I wake it up and make it want more.

Reason for Pre op liquid diet?

I was making treats for my pre-k students' graduation (making them instead of buying because that usually makes me happy....and I might be a masochist). When I finished I licked the spoon out of habit and thought omg sooo good then immediately thought "OMG what are you doing? You're on the liquids only diet" I hope it doesn't effect much but now I just keep staring down those treats. This sucks
  4. I just stepped on the scale...a new morning routine for me. Is it really possible I lost 3lbs on my first day of the PRE-op diet?

    First day of pre-op diet!

Do you mix them with water? Some people suggested using skim milk to add protein.

    No weight loss-- why?

See if your gym has a body composition scale. The one at my gym told me how much my bones and organs weigh (so never going to be smaller than that) it also tells you how much fat and muscle you have and how many calories you burn not doing anything lol. Hope it helps
  9. My paperwork was submitted to Cigna today. I called this afternoon and they have it and say its pending and could take 30 days. What is the process the paperwork goes through? 30 days including weekends? (One can dream lol) Did it really take that long? I'm so excited and nervous at the same time just trying to get an idea of what to expect in this phase. Thanks for any help you can give.
  10. Mine told me it was included when I started the process. I just finished and submitted my paperwork to find out it was excluded. My Dr says they can't do that because its a misquote of benefits so I'm hoping that appeal will be positive.

    Paperwork submitted to cigna

The insurance coordinator at my dr's office is amazing. She has submitted the paper work already and has been going up the chain of command. She told me she would call everyday and do everything she can. I'm going to call everyday too and we are going to get them to approve this. Thanks for all your support. When I got the news I wanted to give up ( and made a sad choice for dinner) but now I'm ready to fight. Thanks guys

    Paperwork submitted to cigna

Thanks for the info. I called today only to find out I was denied. They misquoted benefits to my dr saying that I had coverage for WLS but I don't ???? I was crushed but my dr says that we can appeal because they said they would cover it earlier so I have some hope but I have to have it by the 1st week in July or I won't be cleared to go back to work in time (I'm a special Ed teacher so I get beat up a lot and need that 6 weeks to heal) Keep me in your thoughts or prayers. Thanks

    Paperwork submitted to cigna

I met with the dr for my fist visit on 2/14/13 and they submitted my 3 month medically supervised paperwork and all the other documents on 4/12/13. The dr and his nurses say that Cigna can take up to a month to get back to them. But the people on here are giving me hope. I think I'm going to call cigna every 5 days lol Good luck on your journey!!!!!

    Psych appt tomorrow!

Mine tried to get me to cry by asking about getting picked on as a child. Then she told the insurance company I cried and have depression. Now they don't want to pay her. I'm not sure what's going on I hope it doesn't hurt anything.

    Cigna Insurance Info...

I have Cigna and I just got a letter from them saying that the psyc said I was depressed so they might not pay her. Well I don't know where she went to school but when you ask someone about being picked on for being overweight their entire life and they cry that is a natural reaction not depression. I was wondering why she wrote that. Is that something Cigna looks for? Will it make it so I can't the the surgery?
  20. Yeah! I've been to the last two in Viera. My last monthly weigh in for the insurance company is April 11. I'm hoping they'll give me a date then My name is Caitie you should look for me at the next meeting
