I am going in for my band on 12/16. Any advice? How painful is the gas? I'm so nervous.
Gas pain was the worst for me....everyone is different though I had my surgery 12/9 and I still have left shoulder pain. I walk to chores, etc so I'm not sure why it's still there? Everyone at there own pace I guess....good luck, you will do great!

I'm 7 days post op. I have to be on full liquids for another week, then soft foods before solids.....you are very lucky I'm getting nervous.....I had lost 13 pounds 2 days ago since my post op diet. Today I weighed in 2 pounds heavier I'm not too stressed over weight right now since this is the healing stage, but I can't deny I'm a little discouraged....

Hi all..... I'm 6 days out and have been having sharp constant left side cramps for the past 2~3 days. You know when you jog and you get that side cramp sometimes? Its exactly that feeling. Is it just muscle healing? It hurts worse when I'm up walking around, thoughts?

Newbie here..... Just banded on Monday. I tried contacting my Dr office with this question with no response on Friday. I am currently on full liquids and allowed yogurt. Since I can't stomach plain yogurt I was wondering if I can add PB2 or natural Peanut Butter to the yogurt. Suggestions?

The pain is only located at the top left chest and shoulder area. It hurts constantly and worse when i take deep breaths. I too assumed it was gas, but most people i have read says its mostly gone by now 5 days since surgery..... and i am a total worrier

Reglan is a miracle drug if you ask me. It helps with nausea and tummy pains and also has a secondary action of increased gastric motility. After surgery people are generally backed up so this works in a variety of ways. im a nurse.....reglan does wonders for me. As far as gas pains its common after surgery and you will have them for a while....i suggest gas x strips...they worked well for me
So with my symptoms, what is this drug supposed to accomplish? I have burping that hurts and constant left chest pain and feels like a knife stabbing me when I take a deep breath..... all focused on my left side. It shoots up into the shoulder and neck as well. Thank you so much for your input...

Hello my friends.....I am really having a hard time out of the gate ;( I have been having really bad left chest and shoulder pain (stabbing with a knife). It hurts worse when I take a deep breath in. I went and saw my surgeon today and he prescribed me 2 medications. Reglan/Metoclopramide and Dexilant. After reading about the Reglan, I really do not want to take this medication. Has anyone had any experience with this? My surgery was Monday.... Thanks all.

Hi all, I had my surgery on Monday. I am on full liquids for 2 weeks. I'm very nervous because when I drink my Soups, Water, tea, etc.... I don't get a full feeling. I only eat a cup at a time, but shouldn't I feel some sort of fullness? I don't get my first fill until 6 weeks. I have a 2 week follow up prior, so I'm thinking maybe the fill should come sooner? Thoughts?

Hi all,
I am 3 days post op, surgery was Monday. Do you think low fat sherbert or sugarfree sherbert would be ok? Popcicles are just not doing it anymore.... My husband brought home some Blue Bell Low fat Raspberry and Strawbery sherbert. I has a couple spoonfulls and it was heaven. Not sure if I should continue having a small portion every now and then or not....what are your thoughts veterans

For those of you who have gone through this already how long does your gas pain and incision pain last? Thanks everybody for your kind words and support

I live off of two things: pure Protein frosty chocolate from GNC (35 G Protein and like 4 carbs) and NOW whey protein isolate unflavored. I just discovered the NOW and you can even put it in crystal light and not taste it! Also at 25g high quality protein it's awesome.
Ones I tried and didn't like: GNC lean protein (although others swear by it), Isopure, muscle milk.
unjury Protein powder is good too but not as good as NOW in my opinion. Just have to try a bunch and see for yourself!
Good luck!
Thanks Where do you purchase the Now whey isolate unflavored?

I make my own using some recipes from Eggface's blog. I couldn't stand any of the premade shakes and believe me when I say I tried them all. Premiere' date=' powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, Atkins, Isopure, etc. Yuck. There is a recipe for banana nut bread Protein shake, its amazing. I highly recommend it![/quote']
These sound fabulous!! Am I allowed to have these shakes on the post op liquid diet....even with all the fruit blended in? Sorry, it may be a dumb question....I just really want to follow the rules to a T. My dr. Office was closed and now I can't find out before Monday. Also, can I drink Zero Vitamin Water? It's not on the list....but it's see through and sugar free
