I am 4 months out from my band to sleeve revision and have lost 40 lbs since surgery . My doctor said I would lose about 15 lbs a month but I am averaging about 10 per month. He later said revisions lose a little slower possibly because our bodies aren't too shocked by restriction since we've already put it through restriction with the previous surgery. Either way I will take it. At least I'm not gaining anymore

I am now 4 months out and have lost 40 lbs. I feel like that is kind of slow as my doctor said I would average about 15 lbs a month . But that's an average of 10 lbs a month so I will take it and be happy! could I have done that on my own..... Yes and I have done it on my own! Question is could I have done that on my own and kept it off? absolutely not or I would not have had a band and I would not have had a revision to sleeve. Although I feel like it's a little slower than I had hopes for I finally feel like this is it for me, I finally found a tool that will help me keep the weight off ! Can't wait till another 4 months to see where I am at! :-) another 45 lbs or so and this girl is going on one Gigantic shopping spree!

My doctor told me before surgery I probably would lose slower because I am a band revision to the sleeve because my body has already been through the shock of restriction with the band . I feel he was right, I am not losing real fast like a lot of people do in the beginning but I am still losing so I am happy.

i was in a stall too and had the nutritionist analyze my food logs i was eating a very balanced and healthy diet, and getting enough Protein without Protein Shakes ( after surgery the protein literally made me gag ) she suggested i concentrate more on protein and lower the carbs even though they were healthy carbs . so basically.go.low carb higher protein. so i did and it worked , i started losing again. imstead of eating a little meat and then the vegetables and starch i eat all the meat and leave no room for anytghing else. i was concerned about eating more balanced but the nutritionist and the surgeon agree that as long as you are getting enough protein dont worry about eating the other stuff, just worry about protein while you are in the losing phase of this journey . for me its do able most of the time so im giving it a whirl.

1st,i never said mysleep apnea was gone, i said my snoring had stopped. i could not or should i say would not tolerate that cpap, which is why i chose to have the band to sleeve revision
2nd, i am not knocking the band, everytime i got even the smallest fill my stomach would swell shut to the poing that i couldng even swallow my own saliva, i worked with it for 10years, it was useless to me, and when my insurance said they would pay to.remove it and a revision, i jumped on it. thr band just wasnt for me.
3rd. i went for my one week follow up and gold my surgeon how my snoring had stopped already and he said it typically gets better with weight loss but its most likely be ause i had a lot of scar tissue and adhesions caused from the band that was probably putting pressure on my body, like i said sometimes if i moved a certain way i would catch myself making snorting, snoring like noises while i was awake and moving around, not even in bed. so yes my situation was most likely indirectly caused by the band, if i didnt have the band i would not nave had all thst scar tissue and adhesions. For me personally i feel it was a good thing i had the band removed.

well i was making snorting noises while i was awake and just felt like something was blocking my airway when i moved certain ways. i did not snore like that before the band except while i was pregnant? i think the band was pushing on things and causung this??

anybody have any thoughts on this? the doctor said my band had not slipped and was in the write postion?

sorry i messed this post up, so i had my band/ revision to a sleeve on dec 31st. i had bad sleep apneawhile i had the band. about 4 days after surgery i realized my snoring has stopped, husband hasnt heard me snore either, and im actually dreaming again. i think my band was actually causing the sleep apnea.

i get a lot of this ..... you arent big enough for weight loss surgery. what should i wait until i have a heart attack. im tired of explaining to people that i have other serious co morbidities that i need to do this for. obviously my insurance company thought i needed this, they approved me on the 1 st attempt and it took them less than a day to approve it!

For me I feel diet Pepsi was my downfall. I slipped back into that trap and before you know it I gained 18 lbs. seems like I can eat a lot of food pretty often and so I did. I am trying to get back on track and have cut the diet soda completely and sure enough I feel restriction again. I don't think it's in my head I do believe the carbonation can bloat your stomach and allow you to fit more food in. I'm getting back on track and back to doctors orders! And if it is all in my head so be it. I feel restriction again and that all that matters to me
