  1. That is more than 3 lbs a week, that is not bad at all. Some just lose a lot faster than others so dont compare yourself you will only get frustrated believe me. Plus you have to add in what you have already lost and how long that took to see the big picture. My advice though is to try and stay under 30 grams of carbs and eat healthy solid Proteins. I have only lost 50lbs in 6 months,30 more to go. I did have less to lose than others might have, but I know still that I am a slower loser, but that is okay less saggy skin and I really think you will have an easier time keeping it off in the long run. Don't get discouraged though, you are doing great! Hang in there and in a year from know think where you will be :)

  2. Its good to read your progress. I have been worries. Started at 239 on June 3 when I had my surgery and I an mow 203. I was told a pound day before surgery and was worried I am doing something wrong because its almost 2 months and I've only lost 36 lbs. any pointers for me regarding diet and exercise would be greatly appreciated.

A pound a day! My doc said 6-10 a month would be great.

  3. I do feel like I am a slow loser compared to many on here, sleeved 3/6 at 220 CW 178. It is actually over 2.5 a week so I guess it is not so bad after all. I have hit many stalls of 2 weeks or so and never really drop more than 1-2 pounds at a time. But if I did not do the surgery I know I would not have lost the way I have. I hope I can get to goal in a year but if not i will just be patient until it happens. I feel so much better and definitely know I look better. If you are a slow loser, just Celebrate what you are losing and please don't get discouraged over post where some are losing at lighting speed. I can at least say I have had no Hair loss (yet) and I am almost 5 months out. Also I will be 50 this year so I know losing slower has to help a little with the chance of less saggy skin. :)

  4. I have always battled with weight. Never a skinny kid for sure. I have lost and gained a couple hundred pounds in the last 30 years or so. My highest was about 243. Got down to 135 for a couple of years and then had another baby and then a complete hysterectomy at only 28, after that I gained up to 243 again and lost and gained some more. Sleeved 3/6 at 220 now at 178. I can't wait to get to goal of 130, I am 5'2. I would be happy though once I at least hit 150, I wore a size 8 last time I was at that weight. Size 12 right now, I just want to be in single digits :)

  5. http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html

How much have you lost so far? Everybody is different and your body needs to adjust. Make sure you are eating enough Protein, around 80-90 grams, try and keep your carbs under 50 ( I do under 30) and make sure you get min of 64 oz of Water. This happened to me as we'll. I am just a slow loser 41 lbs since March 1st. 220 start and 179 now. Your starting weight, height, age and metabolism all play a part. Just hang in there and relax and it will start coming off again.

  6. I believe some people just have faster metabolisms than others. Maybe they were over weight because they just simply ate to much, now that the food is greatly restricted they are losing super fast. I follow what I am supposed to eat to a T. I still get hunger pains,I still have cravings. I lost 37lbs in almost 4 months, 5 was post op. I have stalled for 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. This is not easy, yes easier because I get full faster so I cannot over eat but I still have to work at this everyday and I know I always will. Congrats to you who can lose 100lbs in 6 months, but not everyone is wired the same and are trying just as hard as you, or maybe even harder. This website is here for support to everyone and their struggles, it is not all about you, so learn to be supportive. People who say things like , if it is not working then you are not trying are no different what so ever than the people who judge that do not have a weight problem. I am however very happy that I had the sleeve! I know I would still be that 37lbs heavier and maybe even more if I had not. Good luck to all and don't give up.

  7. I really find this so sad that this young girl is now retracting what she said because she feels some sort of guilt over coming out and telling what happened. It is obvious that the story is true and like many victims of sexual harassment she is being made to feel like it is her fault. I really feel for the OP, I understand that she is an adult and she was not forced into this but this was a complete abuse of power on the doctors part, taking advantage of someone's vulnerability. This guy is pathetic and will not stop what he is doing because what was said has now been retracted. I really hope that his behavior does not escalate into something worse.
