  1. I'm hoping for late July. Meeting the surgeon on Friday so may know more then. So exciting!
  2. You're totally ready! You can do it!
  3. Have you found a protein shake you like yet? Im preop too and have been trying samples of protein powders to see what I like.
  4. Hi everyone! I'm 3 months in to my 6 month preop insur requirement, 30 years old, 5'4 240 with a bmi of 41. My weight got out of control during and after my pregnancy. After birth, I was diagnosed with depression anxiety and bipolar. Went through 4 years of trials of meds gaining 60 lbs on top of the 50 I gained during pregnancy (yikes!). So here I am, hoping to get gastric sleeve surgery. I've gained and lost since then but nothing significant. I'm terrified of the actual surgery and recovery but trying to stay positive. Open to any advice you have for me. Have learned so much from this site already, love it!
  5. Me too! I'm terrified of the pain. I also nearly faint at blood draws, hope I can handle this!
  6. Welcome! Good luck with your upcoming surgery!
  7. I agree, let's get started learning good habits early I'm not due for surgery for several months too. You could look for protein shakes and drinks to find out which ones you like ahead of time. I know tastes can change but I think it should be ok. I'm also trying to eat more protein and less carbs to get used to it. Hope this helps!
  8. Good for you! I hope I'm that strong when my preop diet time comes!
  9. Yay! Hopefully I'll be starting my tests next month
  10. I have bipolar 2 and am on my six month preop diet. I would love to know the answers to your questions as well. My meds caused me to gain weight and I worry it'll hinder my weight loss after the sleeve.
  11. I would like to know about this too. Same thing for me, gain no matter what.
  12. I am curious to know about this too. Won't get to ask the dr for 2 months at my first appt.
