    NuvaRing?

Im interested in more info on the nuvaring and sleeve patients. I've done terrible with pills in the past because I don't remember to take them... The patch was my favorite but being overweight took that luxury away and now my Gyn doesn't like patches. I've gone through 2 Mirenas but my body has rejected them. Now im running out of options and really considering the nuvaring before returning to pills but with the cycle I've had post op, I have to get something soon!

    Boobs?

Im thankful for this thread.. I'm only one month post op but my tits aren't deflating like I expected. I started out at a 40H and although my band size is shrinking, my twins aren't. My stomach and waist are slimming down really well but now I'm starting to look like im carrying balloons.

    The Return of Aunt Flo

Im one month out today and even though she's late, Aunt Flo has returned.. However, Aunt Flo has come back with a vengeance. I have not experienced this much pain nor this heavy of a flow previously. Has anyone else experienced significant changes in Aunt Flo post-op?

    Any March Sleevers?

Can someone also add me to the FB page, please? Charis Andrell chariscarey@yahoo.com
  6. I was sleeved on Friday, March 15th. I consider it the day I changed my life and I'm grateful for the opportunity. That day was hard, I remember waking up sore and feeling different. The next week was hard as well but each day was better than the past. Now I'm one week post op and I no longer feel like I took a beating to the abdomen. My incisions are sore and my appetite is taking some time to get used to but I'm prepared to take a lifetime to learn my new changes. I've been sticking to doctors’ orders but when I find myself being tempted too much to veer off, I'm beginning to close my eyes and find the place I want to reach... The place that I won't get to if I let those temptations take over. My family is supportive but not aware of the struggles I face when they cook fried food, stews, and pizzas in addition to bringing home fast food EVERYDAY! I'm thankful for the inner strength I've found to not let my old eating habits to take over. On Friday, (exactly one week after surgery) my favorite cousins begged me to go out to dinner to celebrate a birthday the new tradition we started a year ago. I didn't want to disappoint them so I went. I figured I'd just order some soup or mashed potatoes and enjoy their company. However, I didn't realize how much they would ridicule me for something they couldn't handle and remind me of how much they love food! Fortunately for them, they aren't overweight like me nor suffering with the health issues I face... and fortunate for me, I don't love food more than myself nor did their discussions alter my drive, focus or compassion towards the decision I gratefully made. Although I realized that I was nowhere near ready to go to dinner. I did order smartly... I ordered grilled fish with mashed potatoes after one of my cousins (the RN) promised me that fish would be fine at this stage for only one night... I did taste the fish but veered back on track by only eating four spoons of mashed potatoes before getting full. I listened to my body and stopped. They continued to eat and I felt empowered to not let my mind overpower my body. Since we always talk the entire time we are together, the conversation helped me get through the rest of dinner with ease. Although I successfully made it through dinner, I WILL NOT GO BACK OUT TO EAT AGAIN BEFORE I'M READY! Today is my follow-up appointment with my doctor. I agreed to not go out to buy a scale to prevent me from being addicted to my weight progress and comparing it to others. My NUT advised me that by only weighing in during visits, it would help me to be more surprised, successful and focused on the process instead of progress. I do know that I will still be obsessed but I won’t drive myself and my scale(if I bought one) crazy by weighing myself every day/ 10 times a day!!! Also my first weigh-in is in 8 hours too! Wish me luck!!
  7. Be strong sister.. I pray that you will get yourself back on the right track soon! I'm still early in my journey and I've already made some bad choices. I did realize what I did wrong and made the decision not to do it again.. No, of course that didn't work right away so I prayed about it and then realized that it was on the days that I didn't come on VST. I've found that coming here to talk to others and read about their issues, tips, advice and progress helps me to overcome temptations and stay on track! I'm hoping that the group. So I say to you, find an outlet that helps you to stay on track and overcome your temptations then use it to your advantage! Good luck on your progress and I'm sure you will find your way back to staying on track with your process!

    ideas for full liquid stage?

The different flavored mashed potatoes (thinned of course) are my life savers!! Plus different flavored milkshakes... I take my vanilla flavored protein powder add ice, milk and sugar free coffee syrups (white chocolate, caramel and French vanilla) or pudding powders to make different flavored shakes. Plus I use other flavored shake recipes from my patient handbook to make shakes too!!

    Liquid diet post op phase

I was told no to sherbet/ice cream and orange/pineapple juices during liquid phase post-op. The orange just has too much acid and pulp that makes it not qualify as a clear liquid. Try Sugar Free Popsicles and Sugar Free Snowballs. My NUT also advised me that you can advance to Sugar Free Yogurt and Sugar Free Fudgesicles during Full Liquid Phase.

    African American Sleevers

Hello Everyone, I'm new to the thread and so grateful that I found it! My process has been a breeze and my surgery is in 4 days (3/15). I'm 28 year old but suffering with high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol to name a few... I'm ready for a change.. I live in Louisiana so I know it will definitely be a challenge in the early stages but I'm ready for it! I know that months later when I'm able to eat soul food, it will be right here waiting for me but in much smaller portions! I'm nervous but excited for a sexier and healthier me!!

    Help with finding vitamins!

Thanks for your help, ladies! I'm putting your advise to good use right now!!
  20. I am 5 days away from surgery and in the process of shopping for vitamins... My guide from Pre-Op suggested taking an Adult Multivitamin, B12, Calcium Citrate + D3, B Complex and liquid protein supplements. The guide recommended taking liquid, powder or chewable vitamins after surgery but I'm clueless of where to find them. Please help by giving suggestions on places to find these along with the best brands to choose.
