What is your current fill in your 4cc band?

So, you start fills over again after you have been filled to capacity? How does that work?

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Does anyone have suggestions on a good protien shake? I want something that actually tastes good if that is going to be most of my nourishment.

    Central Florida Lapbandsters?

Hi JC - I'm impatiently waiting! I hope after coughing up all this dough that I lose the weight, or at least most of it. Any suggestions? I'll be perfectly honest, I plan on excersizing, but, I am a procrastinator. I hope when I lose some lbs. that I have more energy and incintive to excercise more. I want to lose 70 lbs but will be very happy with 55.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

:clap2: Fantastic girlfriend! I'm so excited for you! Keep us posted. I want to hear about everything as you go along. I still have 4 more weeks until banding and I want to be on top of everything! ~Smooches~ Celeste:girl_hug:
  6. My cost was $9500.00. You also have airfair to consider but it will still save you $5-6,000 and they have been doing the lapband procedure for 10+ years in Mexico and Europe. They are pretty new doing it in the states (2 years) so actually, you are better off in Mexico as far as experience goes.
  7. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey. go to Obesity Surgery Center - Dr. Roberto Rumbaut and you can view his credentials. I'm being banded there on July 17th.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

[My surgery was in January and I have lost 38 pounds. I'm happy with those results but still want more. It has been nice to wear smaller sizees, and to hear complements, but I felt defeated during a recent shopping trip. I was shopping for new swimsuit and still felt so big! I haven't lost enough and was motivated to go for a small increase in my fill. I want the weight loss to continue. I've been at a plateau for about 3 weeks, and want to see the scale move. Just when I thought I was doing pretty good, my self image was deflated by that shopping trip. I got another black swimsuit. Terry] Terry - I'm new here. Not getting banded until July 17th, but I have noticed that a lot of lower BMI posters do not seem to get regular fills and some are struggling with weight loss. I'm curious; do you guys "choose" to not go and get fills or will the fill clinics not give you a fill? Also, what is the "pb'ing" i keep reading about?

    Central Florida Lapbandsters?

Someone else told me that also. I'll probably check that one out. Do I need to register at the fill-center before my surgery or do you think I should wait until I get back?

Would you go through this for 45 lbs??

OMG! Your getting banded tomorrow? How exciting for you! Good luck on your journey! I want to hear everything as soon as you feel up to it. I'm not getting banded until 7/17.

    Lower BMI Bandsters!

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I've been going to the different forums and noticing the higher BMI's out there and was beginning to feel guilty about going to Monterrey for the Lap-Band procedure. I'm glad I found you guys! I have a BMI of 33.3. My hope and goal is to lose 70 lbs. but will be thrilled with 55. Does the weight come off alot slower with a lower BMI?
  13. Some are good, some VERY bad. Don't be taken in by that chocolate cake they show on the commercial. It is SOOOOOO nasty. Not worth the money. Lean Cuisines are alot more healthy and balanced.

    Bumpy Port post-op

I think your being ridiculous, but that is neither here nor there. This discussion is not worth my time. I found the forum I need to be in where they are nice.:bored

    Central Florida Lapbandsters?

It would be great for someone to start one! I would love to attend now, even though I'm not having to procedure until July! I live near Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven. Oh, and I have a word advice. I'm new here and mistakenly wondered into the Canada forum. Not very nice over there!

    Bumpy Port post-op

And why would that be? He was trained by the person who invented the band. I think it is quite awesome, for me anyway.:biggrin1:

    Orlando/Central Florida

I apologize. I didn't even look at the date you posted when I replied. I'm new here. So, who did you decide to go with for fills? I hear they are really expensive in the Orlando area.

    Fills in North Florida

I'm glad to hear also that the Tampa FillCenter is a good place for fills! I'm having surgery July 17th in Monterey and also can't return for fills because of $$$. I live in Central Florida (Winter Haven) and Tampa is only an hour drive. Please, if anyone has any advice to give me, Post-OP and Pre-Op, I would love to hear it!

    Bumpy Port post-op

I didn't realize I wondered into Canada! LOL I don't want people to be able to see where my port is. That isn't very attractive. Anyway, I'll check with my patient coordinator again. Dr. Rumbaut is the second best in his field, Worldwide.

    Scheduled

Flying into Monterrey for surgery on July 17th with Dr. Rumbaut. Both scared and excited. I'm ready to find my thin self again.

    Bumpy Port post-op

From every thing Dr. Rumbaut website has explained and from talking to Brigitte his patient coordinator, you shouldn't ever be able to see where the port is. After a lot of weight loss you may be able to feel it, but you shouldn't be able to see it. That's in Mexico though. Did you guys have surgery stateside? I'll ask Brigitte again to be sure.

My Doc Refuses To Give Fill

But what about her hunger? I agree that 2 lbs a week is actually a great loss to me, but how long is she going to eat right when she is hungry? How long until she falls off the wagon and starts eating the wrong things? From everything I read you should eat until you feel full/satisfied without feeling stuffed and still lose weight. I think it is the two things together that should be the deciding factor. Again, I haven't even had my surgery yet, but if I'm walking around hungry and the docs over here won't give me a fill when I know I need one after spending all that money, I'd be upset. My patient coordinator is encouraging me to return to Monterrey for my 1st fill because Dr. Rumbaut is very experienced and gets it right the first time (after 6-weeks) and the dr.s here aren't very experienced and you may have to go two or 3 times. I'm hoping to find a dr. close enough that has done enough to get it right the first time because I can't afford to fly back to Monterrey after spending this money now. That's is just my opinion. Some one waiting to be banded.
