  1. Isn't that an awful feeling? I did that the other night because I was trying to hurry so we could leave to go somewhere and all I really succeeded in doing was make myself feel awful before we left! It took about an hour to pass' date=' ugh![/quote']

Agreed!! We went to see a high school musical tonight and I thought I'd wait til afterwards to eat. Used to eating around 6 pm and didn't eat til

    10. Learned I have to put myself first when it comes to eating lol

  2. My name is Shelly, have a miniature schnauzer named Abby, married for 21 years to the love of my life, have 1 son who's 19. He had WLS 12/17/12 and has lost 104lbs. I ran a daycare for 13 yrs then became a nurse about 7 yrs ago. I love being a nurse! I love Zumba, any dancing, reading thrillers, am a TV addict, junking with my hubby, playing with my niece and 2 nephews, love football, hot pink nail polish, am a girlie girl too :) I make homemade candles, love love love Dirty Dancing (nobody puts baby in a corner), love playing words with friends ( username is Shello40) and love HGTV and DIY. Lived in southern IL all my life and have 2 sisters. Getting ready to start working towards my BSN and would like to one day be a nurse practitioner. Love this idea!! :)

  3. I had horrible hunger and head hunger the first 4-5 days after surgery. It scared me because I thought oh no I didn't get fixed!! Lol But my surgeon said I was starving because I wasn't getting in my Protein daily and I wasn't :( I have since been getting in my protein daily and the hunger is GONE!! Head hunger still a little there due to those dratted TV commercials but its getting better too :) I can't stress enough to get in the protein through foods or shakes. I prefer the soft foods because I'm not tolerating the shakes at all. I also drink part skim part vanilla soy milk a lot to get in more protein. I was down 16.2 lbs one week after surgery and have already lost another 4 lbs. since Thursday...feeling good :)

  4. I am 4 days out postop. I'm having a very hard time getting my liquids in. I spoke with my nurse today and she said to go with the Water over Protein so I don't get dehydrated. I did walk for about an hour and 20 minutes in Walmart today and hoping to continue walking each day. I'm having a hard time moving as the larger incision is still painful. I am just now releasing gas and have not had a bowel movement. There were no complications with my surgery so any suggestions regarding the belly pain would be greatly appreciated. I am also a belly sleeper so finding it very hard to sleep. I am able to tolerate about a half a Jello at a time' date=' of all popsicle and tomorrow I will be adding some Soups. Good luck to all those who are sleep this month[/quote']

Try a heating pad maybe. Also I can sleep on my left side if I prop a pillow up under my left side.

  5. Good morning! I am on my last week of liquids! I have had my refried Beans and mashed potatos already! Trust me' date=' I understand. Hang in there, we will make it! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

I'm 4 days post op and I know how you feel. I'm ready for some real food. Might not be a big amount but just a little sounds good :) Will get to try soft foods after Thursday woohoo!!

  6. I was sleeved on feb. 12. sleeping is sooo hard for me. I switch from my bed to an arm chair several times a night and my back is KILLING me from sleeping on it all night long. Do you sleep on your side yet?

Having the same problems with my back. I start in the bed and end up in the recliner to sleep. I'm

a side sleeper so this is hard. I have laid on my side a few times but I splint my stomach with a pillow and that seems to help. Others have mentioned a hearing pad for ur back too. Hope you feel better soon :)

  7. Oh yes' date=' my back was so sore. I couldnt tell if it was because I slept wrong or if it was gas. But I woke up this morning and no back/neck pain. The heating pad wasnt working on my back so I put it on my stomach and I heard the angels sing (relief). I was also sleeved on 2/28 and the stomach pains are not as bad as yesterday. Still hurts a little when I swallow, but I can tell that tomorrow will be even better. Hang in there. This too shall pass.[/quote']

Was sleeved 2/28 too :) I agree with the back pain. I think that's been my worse pain since surgery. Think I'll try the heating pad today. Didn't know if it was from being on my back so long during surgery or what ??

  8. Doing pretty good today I think :) I've not had gas pain, been walking in the halls , had my swallow test (and no leaks yeah!!) and trying to get my liquids in. That's the hardest part, when the liquid hits my stomach it hurts or spasms. They said that's pretty normal the first few weeks. They did have to do a hiatal hernia repair that I didn't know I had but I'm all fixed up now :) Looks like I should get to go home this afternoon hopefully. Was sleeved yesterday :)

  9. Well I'm headed to the hospital in a few minutes to get my sleeve. My surgery is at 7:30 this morning. Even though I'm a nurse and used to surgeries I am very nervous :( It's hard being on the other side of this and not having any control lol All will go well though :) Good luck and prayers going out to all those getting sleeved today!! TTYL sleeved and ready for our new journey :)

  10. Hello--I am new here and saw your post and my surgery is scheduled for February 28th' date=' too. Very excited, nervous, anxious, and almost oblivious to other things as my mind is thinking of this all the time. I think that Feb 28 though is a great day for surgery. Good luck with yours and we will have to touch base again. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']

Hello! Well are you ready for surgery in the morning? :) I feel pretty good but still nervous :( What time is ur surgery? Mine is 7:30 am. Lets stay in touch and good luck :)

  11. No you are not nuts' date=' I almost got freaked out too. But I just prayed (hope this doesn't affend you) and made peace with what ever happened would be ok. The first thing I remember (besides the pain) was my 2 beautiful daughters standing over me and my husband. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

My surgery is Thursday too and I'm experiencing the same feelings. I really want it but am nervous and scared too. Think it's just the last minute jitters :) Good luck!!
