  1. Hey' date=' I got a question. How much fluids are yall able to drink at one time? I drink about 4oz, I feel like I can drink a 8oz glass of Water to cure my thirst but I don't cause im scared it will stretch my stomach"not sure if it will, I forgot to ask my doc about it" but yea, im asking cause I feel like I'm dieing of thirst half the time and would love to be able to drink a full glass at once[/quote']

If you just sip your water, you can easily get 8 oz of water in without stretching your sleeve. My Dr told me to basically always be sipping in between "meals" to make sure Im getting enough fluids.

  2. Im almost 6 weeks out & I can still cry at a radio commercial or a birthday card or pretty much anything!! I believe its one of those minimally discussed normal post-surgery side effects but if it continues for several more weeks or your thoughts change (suicidal, etc), obviously mention it to your dr.

  3. I TOTALLY get what you're saying! I found out a week after surgery that I had a leak @ spent the next 3 weeks in the hospital. I had SOOOOOO many regrets... I felt guilty for putting my wonderful boyfriend through all that & felt like I was being selfish. I cried... A LOT!! I can tell you that it does pass though. Im starting to feel better now & the weight has finally started coming off & THAT'S what will change your mind. It's not easy to get into the routine of eating according to this procedure but it will happen & your definition of a "normal meal" will be different but gratifying. Just be patient & it'll all come together. All the research I did pre-op led me to believe that others were dancing in the streets just days after surgery & suddenly I was in the massive minority but my direction is changing & Im seeing the positive a lil more each day. Keep your chin up!

  4. I have a 2 week pre op diet of low carbs' date=' low fat & sugar. It's hard but I'm sticking to it. As hard as it is for me, I Realllly feel for those of you that are on all liquid...kudos! Who of use here are doing which preop diet?.[/quote']

I only have to do 1 wk of pre op dieting, starting 3/12. Surgery is the 19th & my pre op diet is all liquids. My Dr prescribed 6 packets of no sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfast with 8 oz skim or 1% milk, plus fat free broths, sugar free Jello, Water with sugar free add ins (i.e. crystal light). Post surgery, Im stocked with Unjury whey Protein Powder - chocolate, vanilla, chicken broth, & cheese sauce. It's the best tasting Protein powder Ive ever tasted!! Gettin SOOOOO excited!!!
