  3. Good luck to all having surgery today!!! Please let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.
  4. Thanks for the replies! Yes, they do it in the office. It's one of the pre-op tests before surgery. Not looking forward to it, but I'm sure it sounds worse than it is.
  5. Has anyone had to do an esophageal manometry test where they stick a tube down your nose? My surgeon talked a little about this during our consultation but I just thought it was a normal part of the process but I haven't seen anything on here about it. I won't have to do it till close to my surgery but just thought I would ask. I'm a little freaked because they deaden your nostril but your awake the whole time. Yikes!!
  6. Okay, thanks everyone! I'm gonna stop worrying and just keep on doing what I have been!!! Thanks all!!! I love this site!
  7. It's just the worse feeling ever. Good luck on getting through.
  8. Thanks! I actually just bought some crystal light. At this point, I'll try anything!!! Thanks for the suggestion. I hope it works for me too!
  9. Okay, I have a question about constipation. I wont get too graphic but ever since I tried adding Protein shakes into my daily diet (I'm on the 6 month supervised diet), I seem to get constipated. I feel like I've tried everything from drinking more Water, adding more Fiber, eating more fruits and veggies, stool softeners and Metamucil. It gets a little better but still there. Anyone else have issues from adding protein? And now, I'm worried about how it will be after surgery when it's all about protein. Any help/insights?
  10. Hey everyone! I have a question for all of you that had to do the 6 month supervised diet for your insurance. Did you lose weight? If so, how much? I guess I should just keep eating well and exercising and not worrying about the scale but my PCP mentioned that the insurance companies do this to see if you really can follow a plan and lose weight. I've lost 12 pounds but now don't seem to be losing. I hate that I feel so stressed over this....like I better lose or they'll deny me. Ugh! Sorry....just needed to vent and see how others did. Thanks for listening!
  11. Good luck! Sending prayers your way.
  12. Good luck!!! Let us know how you're doing when you can.
  13. I just had my first consult with my surgeon and told him I was not comfortable with the RNY and that I was only interested in the sleeve. He agreed that I was a perfect candidate for the sleeve and the weight loss amounts are reallly close so it's really almost a preference thing. I just coudn't go with the re-routing and malabsorption. Honestly, I was afraid before my appt that he might say I should do the RNY but once he knew I wanted the sleeve and had some fears about RNY, he never mentioned it. Looking at your stats, my unprofessional opinion is that you would be perfect for the sleeve too! Just make sure you let your surgeon know how you feel about the RNY and Sleeve at your appt. Best of luck! Keep us updated!
  14. So excited for you!!! Good luck with the surgery and definitely let us all know how you are doing when you can!
  15. Hi Khloe! Welcome! I'm a newbie too! I just met with my surgeon on January 30th and have a long 6 months to go on the supervised diet....hopefully it goes by fast! Good luck on your journey!!!!
  16. I'm so worried about hair loss too. I already have thin, baby fine hair. I'm hoping I won't lose a lot.
  17. Thanks all!! So happy I found this site! I'm sure i'll have many questions...especially when I get closer to my surgery date.

I've been lurking around reading different posts and I love this site! Just wanted to say Hi and thank you to everyone for all the information. It's so cool to hear about everyone's journey and feel like there are so many that understand how I feel!
