  1. Great attitude!!! You'll do awesome! Good luck and keep us posted!
  2. Hey all! I started this journey in January and have been doing the 6 months of Dr supervised diet since then (doing that with my PCP). Yesterday, I had my appt with the Nut and she went over my diet after surgery...week by week...and really talked about everything. Wow! It actually started to get real for me at that point. I guess doing the 6 months of dieting seems literally endless so really going over the diet after surgery got me excited and nervous at the same time!!! I still have two more months of my 6 month requirement before submitting to insurance for approval but just had to share. I'm hoping I'll have surgery in August!!! It will be here before I know it!
  3. Welcome Amy!!! Good luck on your journey!! You'll soon find out that many people on here share your issues/concerns. This place is amazing because just when you feel like nobody else in the world understands what you're going through, you'll read posts on here from others with your exact thoughts/feelings.
  4. Awesome!! Congrats!!!
  5. Good luck!! Let us know how you are doing once you're up to it.

  8. Awesome job!!! Congrats on the weight loss!! You look amazing and you're such an inspiration to us pre-sleevers.
  9. I've actually been wondering about this too. I had my first appt with my PCP Feb 5th. I'm hoping my last appt will be early July and it will be done. If I actually have to have 7 pages turned in though, it won't be till August. I was hoping my surgery would be August. I need to check with my surgeon's office.
  10. I just started this process in January and am halfway through the 6 month supervised diet. I've told my family, friends and co-workers. It's definitely a personal choice. I have very supportive people around me who know how much I've struggled with my weight most my life so everyone is excited for me. Plus, it helps keep me in check with them knowing on days I want to slip back into my old eating habits.
  11. Wow!!! You look amazing! Great job!!!

  15. Dr Joseph Kuhn in dallas for me. I'm from Mesquite. Welcome and good luck!!!
  16. Psych appt went good. Talked with him for about 30 minutes then had to take a 165 question test on a computer and then a 400 question test that was a scan tron. Really wasn't bad at all and worried for nothing.
  17. Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. I needed that! Love this place!
  18. I'm in mesquite which is right outside of dallas. I won't be getting sleeved till July/August though. My surgeon is Dr. Joseph Kuhn out of Baylor and Medical City. I can't wait to be sleeved but I'm currently on my 3rd month of the 6 month physician supervised diet. Lost 20 lbs so far and hoping to lose even more before surgery. Best of your luck on your journey!!! All us Tx folk need to keep in touch and support each other!!
  19. Good evening all!!! I have my psych eval tomorrow afternoon and am so nervous. I know it will be fine and all but I'm still so nervous. Wish me luck!! I need it!!!
  20. Please let me know how the manometry test goes. I'll have to have one when I get closer to my surgery and the thought of it freaks me out. Good luck!!!
  21. Hey! How did your psych eval go? I have mine next week and am nervous as well.
