  1. at my 2 week check up I had lost 10 pounds. Weight before surgery was 231, 2 weeks out it was 221. I'm 5'6" tall and would like to get down to around 135.
  2. These are very inspiring numbers! I was around 230 day of surgery and my first goal is to be down 65 pounds in 6 months. that's when I will feel ok in a swimsuit again.
  3. I've been on synthroid for over 20 years and was told I would have to be on it for life. Did your doctor take you off of it? When the pharmacy messed up my dosage years ago, I had major problems. I was sleeved Jan. 21st.
  4. That is awesome! So how long since your surgery? How tall are you and what are your weight stats? thanks for sharing!
  5. Sometimes you may need to up your calories a little. I'm only 10 pounds down at 2 weeks post surgery. it's a little frustrating and I worry too that I will not have the success that I have prayed for. So I'm only going to weigh once a week now and keep thinking positive. Also I don't know what your starting weight was, but many times those that post an incredible weight loss in a short time were starting at a much higher weight. So you have to look at the % of weight lost, kind of like on The Biggest Loser tv show. If you weight 350 pounds and lost 10% your first month, then that would be 35 pounds, where as if you weighed 225 pounds, then 10% would only. be 22.5 pounds. Generally the more overweight you are, the more you will lose.
  6. oh okay, I will. I'm sure it gets tiresome repeating the story. my apologies.
  7. thanks ill have to try the pepperoni.
  8. Okay if you plan on watching the Super Bowl at home or going to a party, let's hear what you plan to eat and still stay on track. If you are looking for a zero carb chip for your dip, I microwaved about an ounce of sharp cheddar cheese for 30 seconds on a coated paper plate. then I peeled it off and it was nice and crispy. Be sure it's not fat free or low fat cheese or it may not work as well. Great when you want some kind of crunchy snack.
  9. I'm planning on making some mini crust less quiches in muffin tins and then freezing them individually for breakfast or other meals. Also I was going to make meatballs and cook in my slow cooker so they are really tender and then freeze them. if you have some mind of Seal A Meal machine it works great too. I think the slow cooker will be a big help to make sure the meats are really tender and juicy.
  10. Had my VSG and Hiatal Hernia repair 10 days ago. Tonight I are about 3 ounces of baked fish that I chewed really well before swallowing. that was 2 hours ago and the pain in my chest and thought will not ease up. I'm spitting up the "slime", but wish I could actually throw it all up. I'm afraid to drink water. I've read that it usually only causes pain for about 15 minutes and its been 2 hours. Any advice??
  11. I was sleeved on Jan 21st. Weight day of surgery was 232 and this morning I'm at 225, only 7 pounds lost. Wish I had bigger numbers like all of you. Maybe I'm not getting in enough protein or water.
  12. I put my crushed pill in with a teaspoon of light yogurt and it made it much easier to get down and not have the nasty taste.
  13. Way to rally back! So exactly how much protein did you average this week? Are you getting it from regular foods or shakes?
  14. I wish they had given me some kind of sleeve to wear around
  15. I had my VSG on Monday, January 21st and I was wondering how long most people stayed on pain meds? I spoke to a friend of mine who said he only needed them for the first day. I'm usually pretty tough when it comes to pain, I've had 2 c-sections, gall bladder surgery, sinus surgery etc. But, this is day 6 and although I feel fine part of the day, then I start having these stinging, stabbing pains in near my large incision and take a pain pill. I also started having muscle spasms near this area today as well. And what has your doctor suggested as a sleep aid? Thanks!
