  1. In a situation such as yours, I probably would have gotten a bottled Water and a bag of pretzel's. Drinking the water first, hoping that would have filled me up a bit, so not to eat the whole bag of pretzel's. I do try to keep a Protein bar on me at all times tho. But if really hungry, that probably would have not done it. At least with the pretzel's the carbs would have done the job of curbing my hunger.

  2. No, it certainly does not end here, you are going thru a bad craving period. Tomorrow is another day. Pick yourself up, Pat yourself on the back, and start all over again. Don't look back and judge yourself on past eating choices. Only go forward and take one day at a time.. You can do this, you know you can!

  3. I am 3 1/2 months post-op. I can tell you in the beginning stages I was always hungry. What I did was eat what I could on my stage/plan several times a day. If I ate a yogurt at 10a, and was hungry 45 min later I would eat Soup, and my day continued as said. Two months after surgery is when I could eat anything that my stomach was able to handle, which I did, still kinda staying on plan tho. And my hunger was controlled. I do eat mostly Protein tho, and always start my day with a Protein Shake, protein will def fill you up more than slider foods.. Hang in there I am here to tell you it gets better.. Down 50 pounds, and loving life.. You will do great, Good Luck!

  4. From what you are describing, it all sounds normal. In the beginning I could not get much solids down, so I would eat what I could and move on. Was I satisfied, absolutely not. Was I full for the time being yes. Whenever I felt hungry (which I did alot). I would eat what was on my plan. I would say I ate 4 to 6 small meals a day, again all within the plan. Now, its much easier to get the solids (3 mons post op) down. I am doing very well with my sleeve. Give it time you will see a big difference at your 3 month mark.. Good Luck!

  5. You will do great. The first couple of days were rough, but each day it got better. Bring gas strips with you and chap stick, they were my life savers while I was in the hospital. I would not change my decision for the world, very happy with my sleeve (3 mons post op). Good Luck!

  6. I am three months out, and I too can eat almost anything. I do however follow a plan, no sweets, low carbs, high Protein, no bread, no Pasta. Water, coffee (black), diet ice tea, or unsweet tea. I count all my calories on the app "Lost it" and try to stay between 800 to 1000 a day. This works best for me. I can only get in 3 to 4 oz at a time anyway. But feel very satisfied with my choices of meals. I love my sleeve, and so glad I made the decision to have healthy active life.

  7. I am three months out, and everything that everyone on this thread as posted, I have been there. And I am here to tell you, it def gets better with each passing day.. Hang in there, listen to your NUT and DR, follow your program sheet, and you will do fine.. Congrats to you all, and Good Luck, your new journey is beginning..

  8. I have bought the deli kind of turkey (lunch meat) and chicken breast (boars head). I usually have this for lunch tho, no bread just the meat about 3 oz and it fills me up.. For dinner I have, plain breast of chicken, with veggies, or turkey chili. I make a bit pot of the chili on weekends and it lasts me all week. Or a turkey patty with veggies. Also do fish some nights, but as you, I was getting tired of it.. So now I am on the turkey chili, and have been loving it..

  9. I told everyone, as it did not bother me for no one to know. However many people who have WLS also have hernia's (I had one, Dr took out on day of my WLS), so you can say you have to have a hernia removed.. Its just a small fib lol. And if you do have a hernia when the Dr does your surgery and he removes it, than there was no fib at all.. Good Luck!

  10. I too have those thoughts, and I must say, without judgments. I sometimes think they might be scared, or just don't have the funds for the surgery, so they go each day as I did overweight. And I say this because, it actually happen to me. My neighbor is overweight, she knew I was getting WLS when I started my journey back in August 2012. We chatted several times about it, and I never said to her that she should think about it. I am 3 months post op, and saw her the other day, she noticed the weight loss, we chatted, she went on her way. That afternoon I got a txt from her, asking me about my surgeon, since seeing me her fear had dissipated, and was very interested in the surgery. I gave her my surgeon's number, her appt was today, insurance approved. She should have her surgery by July/August. When we spoke this evening she said she was scared to do it, but wanted to do it forever.and if it was not for seeing me and being honest with her about how I lost the weight, she probably would not have done it.. she was very appreciative. I told her I will be with her every step of the way.. I am very happy for her. She had joy in her voice.. I also think that when sleevers start losing the weight we feel so much better about everything, but we will never forget how miserable we were being overweight..and kinda just want to pay it forward.. Its totally not about judgment..

  11. I felt dizziness at that stage as well. I was also light headed at times. I was not getting all my liquids in tho, so I knew it had to be that. It did go away when I started eating dense meals, such as Protein type foods. Heart racing could be part of not getting enough liquids in, I did not encounter that issue.. Try sipping your liquid throughout the day, maybe that will help.
