  1. Yeah Wendy! I am on the other side of 6 months, 71 pounds down (no pre op diet) Congrats on the approval, in another 6 months, you will be so thrilled with the results.
  2. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.calculatebmi.co/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/BMI-Chart.png&imgrefurl=http://www.calculatebmi.co/bmi-calculator-for-women/&h=369&w=701&sz=9&tbnid=5sIcUSZvwGwdkM:&tbnh=57&tbnw=108&zoom=1&usg=__tTcdxJCxM52dO7Y2KYoLLlWbQ2U=&docid=WIYYLned9_3ByM&sa=X&ei=vFEzUvW1NYWRiAKv-4HQAw&sqi=2&ved=0CC4Q9QEwAQ&dur=2292 My BMI went from being nearly 41 to 30 in the last 6 months, I am one point away from being overweight, not severely obese anymore after loosing 71 pounds on my 5'7 frame. Loose just 10 pounds lessens your heart disease risk. Here are the benefits from the American Heart Association website http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/GettingHealthy/WeightManagement/BodyMassIndex/Body-Mass-Index-BMI-Calculator_UCM_307849_Article.jsp
  3. When will you love your sleeve? When your worst enemy and your secret crush cant stop staring at you...
  4. The clip in ones I feel like would be obvious. But I guess I never really notice other ppls clip in extensions....except for when older ladies use the fake hair for a ponytail..those you can spot across the room.
  5. I was wondering if anyone has gotten hair extensions for their thinning hair. My hair is so thin 6 months out, I have had a lifetime struggle with anemia and my hair was thin before but their was lots of it. Post surgery its soooo thin that I am considering hair extensions for body and length. Has anyone done this with success or does it further damage your hair, I have to do something. I tried protein shampoo and a very expensive bottle of leave in Moroccan oil (did I mention its frizzy on the ends-sounds so attractive I know) good lord I wanted my body to be thin not my hair too
  6. HW 265/SW 259/CW 196 SD 2-27 HT 5'7 just a little over 6 months and I have lost nearly 70 lbs I did not have a preop diet so that's all post op weight loss. Its not jaw dropping compared to others but its jaw dropping to me
  7. Never ever been sick from anything I have eaten post surgery. wish I had been though. It gives me no limitations.
  8. I am so disgusted by how much everyone eats now especially my boyfriend. Maybe I am just jealous, but I don't think so. I don't miss eating like that. But I do miss craving something. Food is just not exciting now. I have to make myself eat, just because I know I have too.
  9. I am taking sublingual vit b and d however I have always been anemic, and this surgery has not made it any better in fact worse. I bought some iron to add to my water, but I just got it (walgreens) Getting my blood drawn to check anemia because last time had it checked it was so low they asked me how I had the energy to get out of bed in the morning, but I really felt fine at that time. Now, I am just dragging, I feel like that is the problem..
  10. Awesome! We are sleeve sisters, we had our surgery on the same day we are about the same age, and our stats are so close! I screamed a couple days ago when mine said 199, I love the weight loss and the compliments, but I am soooo fatigued. Going to get my blood drawn to see what my iron levels are. How is your energy level?
  11. So today it happened, I have been in a stall for most of July maybe only lost 7 pounds. And today I stepped on the scale and it teetered back and fourth, till finally it landed on 199.9..I screamed! Thank you Thank you Thank you. Its been so long. I have lost 66 pounds in 5 months. I know that's not 100 but its fine with me. I will take it.
  12. Toast was my biggest go to food before surgery. Sooo...I threw my toaster in the trash right before surgery. Havent had a problem since.
  13. Ok what is a cruiser bike? I am imagining a cool retro old fashioned easy strider type back...not one of those new fangled "Mountain Bikes" lol although I knew a girl that was a mountain biker who had the most rockin body from it. Its challenging for me to ride one on flat pavement, let alone up a dirt trial on a mountain....
  14. This scares me. But I love all the positive ideas and words of encouragement. I say if what your doing is not working, turn it upside down. Get plenty of sleep, lower your stress through quiet walks or whatever calms you, get back to basics, try the 2 week liquid diet, then do the puree stage etc to kickstart the beginning when it was working. See this as a challenge NOT a roadblock, I am guessing your a fighter since you have come this far. And I bet nothing is going to keep you from reaching your goals.
  15. WOW! I logged on tonight to reluctantly look at the responses to my post , and all I can say is my eyes are watering a little because I never expected so much positive feedback  . I am inspired. Thank you. I knew if I put it out there I would hold myself accountable, and I had to wonder if so many of us didn't struggle with the same thoughts And tonite @TBodner1971 I shall being "peeling wallpaper" I even have a hair appointment on Thursday, I haven't had seen my hairstylist in minus 60 pounds, guess I will see the new me. Thanks everyone!
  16. Well, Bariaric Cookies is why your at 163 and I Juanitas is why I am at 205....LOL
  17. Thanks Laura <3
  18. Ok so here goes- I am stuck at 205. 5 Magical short pounds from "Onderland" Why I am stuck here at 205? I will tell you why, because I have been eating slider foods. Mainly Fritos and Junaitas Chips sometimes popcorn and close your eyes....even CHOCOLATE. So pissed it doesent make me sick like everyone else. Just my luck, it goes down like normal. Usually at bed time. Its comfort food (not making excuses just keeping it real) I am not sure why I am sabotaging myself. I am sure its physiological, although I am not a physiologist. Why I am afraid of going down into the next chapter, am I afraid of success? of the ok, I have done this now what? I have done this and reached my goal but it wasn't the cure all of everything? Am I loosing all this weight for a reaction from others I am afraid I am not going to get. or I will get and not know how to handle it? I haven't had my hair done, or tanned. I think another way of hiding. I think what the problem is that Its been 10 years since I was thin. And at that time I was pretty and young. Now 10 years later, I am afraid to see what I will look like after all this weight is gone, and I get my hair done, and their is nothing more physically that I can do to transform myself and their staring at me in the mirror will be a wrinkled up skinny lady and that's all I can do. PS Tonite I did not eat chocolate...lol I have been very honest so please be nice....
  19. Personally I was wearing clothes that really were too small for me, or stretchy pants. Just went through my closet this afternoon and cleared out things that are too big and had fun trying on things that fit again.
  20. I am 4.5 months post op Sleeved Feb 27 SW 265 (also highest weight ever) CW 205 so today I am officially halfway to goal...my comfortable weight is 145ish. People are really starting to make comments, although one comment did not thrill me " It looks like someone deflated you" lol. OK. Not exactly what I was going for. But I am happy, I can exercise more freely. All the old clothes in my closet that I used to squeeze into or couldn't get into anymore fit now or are too big. Before, I would not buy anything above a size 18 (in denial big time) but it should have been a 22. Now I wear size 16. I look in the mirror and see this thinner version of me.. and it stops me for a second, and honestly, although I lived most of my life as a skinny girl, it shocks me. Also, Its weird how you see ppl and you know they notice your weight loss and they don't say anything. Thats always awkward. Its usually other heavy girls, they don't want to acknowledge or approach the subject I guess. Anyway that's my halfway point update. Thanks for listening to me ramble on for probably too long..
  21. Finally got the courage too....take a mirror and take a look at what I look like from behind. I thought, hey, I have lost 60 pounds, I am halfway to goal, how bad can it be? Apparently really bad. Good Lord, I am glad I did not have the courage to look at 265. I would have passed out, then woke up and ate chocolate I'm sure.
  22. But it is coming off..slow and steady wins the race.
  23. I went to the dr today, and while waiting in the exam room I was sitting in the chair, and I kept feeling something in the chair pad, It was such a strange feeling, I got up twice to too look at the pad, irritated nothing there..hmph. Then I sat back down and it hit me....hellooo but/hip bones...Haven't felt you for so long, I forgot you were in there
  24. 4 months and a week out, never it would be possible for me to eat a hotdog with a bun. I dream about the things I will probably never be able to eat again. A big Italian meal, fair food....A burger and fries...oh well I have found that I have a new level of satisfaction with the things I can eat. And I know that their is a lot of opinions over whether or not sleeve stretching is possible and my intuition and own felling tells me it is possible so I am aware when I eat that I do not want to do that. I think that is why some ppl are able to eat more at 9 months than at 4. I am not claiming to know this for sure its just my humble opinion so no hate mail please.
