    Too much?

4 months and a week out, never it would be possible for me to eat a hotdog with a bun. I dream about the things I will probably never be able to eat again. A big Italian meal, fair food....A burger and fries...oh well I have found that I have a new level of satisfaction with the things I can eat. And I know that their is a lot of opinions over whether or not sleeve stretching is possible and my intuition and own felling tells me it is possible so I am aware when I eat that I do not want to do that. I think that is why some ppl are able to eat more at 9 months than at 4. I am not claiming to know this for sure its just my humble opinion so no hate mail please.
  3. I am having trouble separating eating from drinking. Can someone explain to me why we are told not to do this? I need convincing at this point.

    I am in Onederland

Wow! we are very similar in stats, You had your surgery a cpl days after me, and you've lost a bit more than I have! Well a lot more. I did not have a pre op diet, did you? If so how much did you loose before surgery? trying to make myself feel better here..lol, Great job. I have 8 more pounds to "onederland" Its taking forever! Was stalled so I tried eating more and it worked, I dropped a pound. So jealous. Cant wait till I weigh one hundred something
  5. Patience...your doing everything right. I stalled at three weeks for like 2 weeks. I have seen it on here a million times the exact same post. Now you look at their stats 2,3,4 5 months down the road and they have lost 40,50 plus pounds. Some even more. The anticipation of the surgery, the eating next to nothing for so long, in our minds the expectation is that we have the surgery and then BAM we should loose 30 pounds the first 2 weeks..lol Well I did loose 20 in the first month. But its really a numbers game that is slow and steady. The one day you look back and whew 50 pounds is gone
  6. Ahhh-mazing. you look like a whole new happy person. congrats!
  7. @Amanda Rae, out of curiosity I am wondering why your signature panel which says “If You Propose To Speak, Always Ask Yourself, Is It True, Is It Necessary, Is It Kind.” yet you post the opposite. Your response was neither kind or necessary.
  8. Lots of good answers and advice. I am aware of not drinking and eating at the same time, I just do it in small to medium amounts, and nothing happens that others have mentioned. No running to the bathroom or throwing up. So I really had no reason to change that habit. But I knew it wasn't what I was supposed to be doing.
  9. 4 months since my surgery yesterday 55 pounds gone (thank god!)...really hoping to loose 20 more by my birthday 8-17...
  10. Can I ask you what your dosage of fish oil and garlic pills are, and maybe this is a dumb question but after typing that out, I wonder does this give you any kind of body odor? lol thanks
  11. I am 3.5 months post op and I had persistent left side kidney pain. I went to the DR and I had a urine test that was positive for blood, and they tell me its looks as though I have passed a stone and now have an infection. This is a result of high protein diet, and not drinking enough water. Partially my own fault. I get so busy that I don't drink enough water. Now I am on antibiotics, pain meds and missing work. Not to mention the pain. I hope I can help someone else avoid this by stressing the importance of H20!
  12. I have lost 50 pounds, and I had my daughter take a picture of me, I still look heavy. I guess 215 pounds at 5'7 is heavy. My life without at least the reward of a good meal leaves me with a huge hole in my "looking forward to something" list. I have tried to replace the emptiness I feel with diving myself further into a job I am allready an overachiever at. Still I feel nothing. I look in the mirror and I see a thinner body but I dont feel better. I dont feel anything. I had false expectations that being thinner would make me "happier" more fulfilled give me a new lease on life. it really has not. My inteligent self knows that thinner doesent equal happier. Loosing weight has forced me to to open my eyes to the fact that their is a lot missing on the road to my own contentment without self medicating or distracting myself with food. I also knew that I would come to this place I am today if I lost the weight that I would have to find "me" again. Its just such a huge undertaking that its made me mope for a few weeks. So many things happened on the way to getting fat, that now I have to deal with them in order to move on. Now I have said it to outloud I hope to hold myself accountable and get out of my funk. This was difficult to make public, I am wondering if anyone else feels this way?
  13. Agreed_ diagnosed with Lupus at 26 now 43, only one flare up since surgery, not even that bad. I do get tired a lot, but I am late to fall asleep and early to get up, so that would be more the reason.
  14. I had to look to see how tall you are because you do not look like you even weigh 241!! What and incredible amount of weight you have lost, You look Great!
  15. Feel so left in the dust...everyone is loosing so much that was sleeved the same time as me..yet I am in stall at 47 pounds lost since being sleeved 2-27...
  16. Love this congrats your are gorgeous!
  17. I had the exact same thing happen to me but no infection.( they infiltrated my vein with an Iv the nurse just shot the pain medicine in the IV without going slowly something popped and I felt an incredible amount of pain) It was with a surgery I had just a few months prior to the sleeve. It hurt and left a terrible bruise from my wrist to my elbow. It also left a bump of Fluid in the crease of my arm. It still hurts, and I still have the slight bruise about 10 inches long. I showed my sleeve surgeon, and she said that it could take up to two and a half years to fully go away..(seriously?) It has been over a year since the infiltration. Some drs and nurses and ppl that draw my blood shake their heads and say they rarely see anything this bad, it totally sucks I am sorry. The original hospital where I had it done, they just said sorry. Nothing they can do.
  18. That is an amazing difference you look like the sister of the person in the first picture..

    The look

Brandy that baby in your picture is so dang cute! I'm not a psychologist but I do know one thing, you have to stop looking for acceptance in other ppl and find it in yourself and that is where you find a peace of mind that makes it less of a big deal what other ppl think of you.

    today is the day

Soon you will be loosing pounds and giving out advice. The best advice that I received at your stage were 3 things. 1. Take the anti nauseau meds before you leave the hospital even if you dont feel nauseau. (I did not do that and got REALLY sick) Zofran works well. 2. As soon as you wake up walk, and walk every hour, It helps keep the painfull gas away and lessens the chance for blood clots. 3. Sip, Sip,Sip, the best way to keep you from feeling sick is to stay hydrated. Even when you dont want too, even if you think you cant, sip water. Your going to be so happy in a couple months, this will be a distant memory. Best Wishes!
  21. Sleeved Feb 27th Im down 46 pounds and stalled for the moment. I definitley loose more when I excersize.I cant eat very much. Eating is just to make the hunger go away, not for the pleasure. The pleasure comes in the smaller clothes sizes and the lightness of my shrinking body, and the towel fitting all the way around me when I get out of the shower...lol
  22. Good Idea, 3 sizes huh? how long did it take before you fit into it? And whats your excersize consist of?
  23. I am obviously going to need a tummy tuck after this is all said and done. I had twins with a C-section, so that sealed my fate right their. (big lie when they tell you your tummy muscles will be fine afterwords) My friend had at TT and it was like 6 grand. Not affordable for this girl who has three teenagers, Does anyones insurance cover tummy tucks? lifts and all the other plastics one may need to look put back together again after WLS? I see alot of ppl getting it, all kinds of procedures, I know its really expensive, How is everyone paying for it? Out of pocket, financing it? Mexico? Just curious to weigh my options..
