    Alcohol/Social drinking

My doctor says no alcohol forever and I signed something to that effect.. You will get responses from people who have had no issues with an occasional drink. Besides the carbs, my doctor stated some statistics related to people who have weight reduction surgery turning their food addiction to an alcohol addiction. In fact there was someone on this site struggling with that problem.

    July 4th!

Take whatever you might have eaten and put it in a blender. I puréed a hamburger and a piece of cheese and loved it! You can puree almost anything - keep it healthy - avoid puréed apple pie and ice cream!

    Salad?

I haven't had an actual salad yet. I am 3-1/2 months post op. I have had bits of lettuce in a wrap and had no trouble. It just seems like a salad might be hard to digest.

    The Eleventh Hour

I can feel your fear- we all have it. Only you can decide if this is the time to change your life. I am 3 mos out and had no issues- no nause, no pain, no vomiting. I am losing at a decent rate. But, things can go wrong and you are aware of them. Your social life in regards to eating will be different, at least for a while. If you don't think you can mentally handle being restricted, not being able to order a 7 course meal, living on chips and cheeseburgers, then it's not time yet. You will be able to eat what you want- you will learn not to want it anymore. Good Luck!
  8. I have had no pasta or rice so far- 3 mos out. I had whole wheat toast with no problems. I am not getting much down other than protein so far.
  9. Beautiful Before Nd beautiful after!!!!

    My surgery

Some people get lactose intolerant. Check the ingredients and see if there is any milk. I had a problem with diarrhea very time I drank a shake. I started taking LacTaid and it helped. I don't have the problem any more-3 mos post op.
  11. You are similar to my stats but your stomach is much flatter- how tall are you? I am only 5' tall so everything is around my middle.

TWO WEEK LIQUID PRE SURG DIET ANNOYING!

I did follow my dr's requirements and still do at 3 mos out. I don't plan to screw around with this. The Pre Op was the most difficult part for me. Keep looking toward the prize- a healthy thinner happier you and do the very best you can to get there.

    Surgery June 19th

You will miss it, but so many great things happen that it won't last long. I see a commercial for a juicy burger and I want it. Before the commercial ends, I have lost interest.
