Metabolic rate and stalls
FatMamaw replied to FatMamaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Way to go Gamer! -
I worry about my metabolic rate after surgery. Evidently weight loss slows down after surgery. From the posts I've read people are eating way less and losing less than normal. Does cardio slow down our metabolic rate as well? I read something about cardio taking the sugar from our muscles, instead of our food. How do we keep our bodies burning fat and losing weight, without stalls.

Will i still be hungery, as i am post op? Having surgery feb 18 th.
FatMamaw replied to FatMamaw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks ! I am soo tired of being hungery. I would love to be the one who forgot to eat! Lol This pre diet is so hard. My husband who lost 80 lbs on weight watchers, says " if you can do this pre op you should be able to, lose on your own." I'm doing it, because I feel with this I will have a chance of not always being hungry. -
How to get in all the food and liquid after surgery?
FatMamaw posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does anyone have a schedule from the doc or one they have made themselves that enables them to get all your protein and liquids in a day? To drink 60 oz water a sip at a time. But not 30 minutes before or after eating. And taking at least 20 min to eat a meal. -

My nut said no Caffeine .... It is like smoking, in that it keeps you from healing. I've give up caffeine with the wit cokes. I'm not a coffee drinker.

FatMamaw posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm really pigging out. I'm trying to get my fill of my favorites diet coke and chocolate almond ice cream. I'll be glad when I get the noticed that I've been approved so I can schedule my surgery. I know I should be dieting now...but I'm sure gonna miss all this good stuff! -

FatMamaw replied to FatMamaw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is funny since I gave up diet cokes during preop, I don't miss them. Weird since I was thinking that was going to be the hardest thing. I am so hungry on these shakes! I ate a scrambled egg today. Sooo good. My surgery is Monday 18th. I know I should give up my artificial sweetener in my decaf tea, but I can't make myself drink anything but tea and water. -
If you are on the protein shake/ low carb low fat diet... Your body will go into ketosis after a few days and you burn fat at a very high rate. If you have to eat, make sure you eat protein Like meat. Don't eat carbs,it will knock you right out.

I heard you can get you pouch to shrink again, if you go back on protein shakes only for three days . I read it somewhere on one of these websites. I don't have my surgery till Monday, but I've been reading everything I can get my hands on. -
Anyone having trouble doing cardio exercise, while on pre op diet ? I can only have 2 protein shakes, and a can of soup. I started before the diet but just don't feel like doing anything now. I'm weak as a new born baby.i drink lots of water and tea.

It is hard! You just have to suck it up and do it. It will help for a successful surgery

First day of pre-op diet
FatMamaw replied to Zanygirl83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was really worried about my PRE op as well. My husband told me "if you can do this , why not just lose another 70 and you'll be done" he lost on Protein diet years ago. He lost 80 lbs on weight watchers and has kept it off completely for 3 years so far. It is hard ... Very hard and I had to give up a 6 to 8 a day diet come habit as well. I Sri k lots of Water 6 to 8 bottles a day. I can have 2 Protein shakes and 2 sugar free Popsicles. Then 1 hardy Soup at supper. Just keep in mind it is only a short 2 weeks and it is to help make your surgery a success. I have been drinking decaf Iced tea this week and it helps with cravings. -
