  1. I had very bad pain for over a month. It was horrible for about a week. My whole stomach was black and blue on the outside..two of my friends used the same dr after I did and they didn't bruise. They were over 100 lbs over weight I was about 60 or 70. It's been 3 years I've gained back about 10 lbs after long vacation this winter. I've lost 3 so far but it's much harder now and I'm 65 so that may be part of problem

  2. I love my diet coke. I did give it up preop and was ready to give it up forever. At first I just tried a sip or two of a flat diet coke. It didn't taste so good. I thought good, I don't miss it. About 4 month out I put a opened one in the fridge and let it sit till the next day . It was wonderful. I had been reading how many doctors are saying carbonation can't stretch your stomach, and the stretchy part has been cut out.... Ect. So for a treat once a day I get a fountain DIET coke and drink it. My stomach is no bigger than when I started and I have no problems. Just giving my experience on diet coke.

  3. My stomach hurts, aches when I wake. It does get A little better when I drink a shake. I'm 7 weeks out. I have had two major cancer surgeries on my head since my sleeve. I haven't been eating much but I do drink shakes and nibble here and there. I'm been in too much pain to eat. I start radiation weds. Daily for 6 weeks.

  4. I made it my goal to not ruin my metabolism-- at the advisement of an awesome personal trainer. I eat about 2000 cals a day in maintenance now. I have for an entire year. If I creep up' date=' I cut back a bit. I got my cals up to 1200 as soon as I could post-op in an attempt to not tank my metabolism. I lost most of my weight at the 1500 calorie point. I still made goal at 8.5 months post op! I think I am able to eat a hefty 2K per day now cause I work out and stay active and cause I didn't stay below 1200 cals a day for long. My friend that had gastric bypass ate 600 cals a day for almost year so now when she started eating a measly 1000-1200 a day now she has regained 50 pounds.

Thats why I love my sleeve. I can maintain my weight now at a reasonable calorie count!!!![/quote']

I can't eat very much 2 tablespoons without getting a stomach ache. One week after the sleeve I found out I dad , nodular melanoma.,with in 2 weeks vie had 2 surgeries.last time my whole scalp removed and replaced, lymph nodes removed. I wish I'd never had this sleeve.,I don't know why it hurts to eat what little do and not losing weight either.

  5. I am on the purée stage right now' date=' and I can't do it. I've been sticking to eggs, refried Beans, and other soft stuff. I tried one thing puréed and I couldn't get past the first spoonful. It just looked to gross to eat. And it tasted nothing like it usually does. But thankfully to this site I've found lots of soft things and some great recipes for food I can eat.[/quote']

How much can you eat at a time? Are u 3 weeeksmout?

  6. In my experience, barring complications, you will be "able" to take the grand kids camping. However, you may not want to. I looked at your profile to see your vital stats, but your age, etc. isn't listed. So let me share my experience. I am in my early forties and was 222 when I was sleeved. Four weeks post-op, my sutures were nicely healed, I felt great...and I still tired easily after a full day at my desk job. Yes, I was walking and doing other exercises everyday; yes, I was eating my Protein and drinking my fluids. All was well, my body just took another 3 or 4 weeks before everything felt fully recovered and my endurance and energy levels were back to normal.

    Thank you so much!

  8. I am having lots of pain in my stomach. I'm 4 days post op. can't get up and down without help. Burns bad. Others say they didn't have pain that bad.

I am wondering if having two hernias removed at the same time could cause extra pain. I have large black bruises around each scope site.

I have no problems with sickness, and my new sleeve doing great!

Also I'm am black around each icut. Very black and big bruises. I'm taking my pills whole and not grinding them. They are all about the size of m&m. That's not my problem, I don't think , they seem to go down fine.

Others 5 days or around there say they have no pain.
