I am April 19th for my surgery! Approaching quickly.

It is so devasting when there is a bump in the road to having surgery. I started coughing and wheezing on Wed night. I am so concerned I may have bronchitis again. I have asthma and it is definitely acting up. I feel terrible and I am so worried this could impact my surgery. However my pre-op is on 4/1 so hopefully I can get over this. Good luck schristine with getting your surgery done.

Definitely bringing my own toiletries. U have such allergies I don't want to flare up causing a sneezing fit. The room also has a leather recliner so I am bringing extra warm blankets due to concerns with chilling post surgery.

Not sure what your insurance is or the reason for the denial, but I would definitely appeal. You have gone so far to reach where you are and the insurance may automatically deny one each first attempt.

This thread has been so helpful. I am having my sleeve surgery within the US, but due to I live greater then 50 miles from the hospital that I have my surgery they require I spend one night at a hotel contracted with the bariatric unit. I have to pack to include the overnight at the hotel to ensure I have the necessities. I am now going to focus on the Mexico sleevers posts to help make my list. Thanks for this great site!

I so agree the nervous part of the process will probably be the week before surgery. I have my surgery date for 4/19/13. I have to weigh in on 4/1/13 and take a post op course. I have met my weight requirement and will be so thankful to get my weight in complete. Good luck!

I am now so excited. I received a call today and my surgery could have been within 2 weeks, however I am going on a trip April 11 that I can't change. So I have my post op class on 4/1/13 then pre-op with surgeon to finalize surgery and weigh in. My surgery will be on April 19, 2013 with an overnight in the hospital. Due to I live more then 50 miles from the hospital I have to stay overnight in the motel near the hospital for safety (this is the MD requirement, but the motel is very nice and gives a good rate for patients). I am now on my way to being on the other side!!!!!

My information was sent in to Horizon BCBS of NJ on 2/28/13. I was notified today I was approved on 3/7/13. The surgery scheduler will call me next week to schedule surgery.

I also have Horizon BC BS of NJ. My information was sent on 2/28/13. I have been checking their site, but nothing on there yet regarding the authorization. I called today 3/5 but was told nothing in the system, but it could be in UR just not complete yet. Looks like your insurance was sent in on 1/29 then you received letter on 2/9? I am so anxious for the insurance part to be over and authorization in hand. Good luck!
