Hey all! I thank you for all the names! I did look into one in Fort Myers and they said I wouldn't have to go thru all the other stuff since I'd be a self pay but..... The cost for the sleeve is $18,000 and the way I understood it was that didn't include the cost of the band removal . So instead I'm taking 5 days from my FL vacation to leave my daughter with grandma and grandpa and going to Mexicali for revision surgery. Thanks for all the suggestions on the FL surgeons!!!

Hey all! I'm going to Mexicali to have revision surgery from band to sleeve on March 8th. I chose Dr. Aceves personally from the stories I heard about revisions. It's a little more money but worth it. I wanted to go back to Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana but my research for revision put me to Dr. Aceves. I have no issues about going to Mexico (although some people I told do) and had the best experience at the OCC the first time. 4 years ago I put a claim in with AB Health and they paid for quite a bit of my surgery (lapband) --- going to try again . I have pre op on the 7th and surgery the 8th... We fly back on the 11th. I'm so ready for this and wish it could happen now!! . Ps -- I'm from Fort McMurray.

Hey all! I'm new here! I've been looking around the website for a bit trying to gather all of the information that I can find. I booked my surgery for March 8 with Dr. Aceves. I'm having revision surgery from band to sleeve. Slightly nervous but from what I have heard I'm going to be in good hands Pre-Op diet .... sucks. I have gone over every single Protein shake that I own or can find in the store and think now I'll have to just stick to whey. I have some Body by Vi left over, Reshape (something that we used to sell but its not a meal replacement), Muscle Milk, Whey (from Costco). I've always looked at labels but clearly neglected to look at Carbs! I was quite shocked in the amount of them in yogurt and milk - oh and my frozen fruit that I put in my protein shake I understand the importance of the pre-op diet very well ..... what did you all do? I tried to do the "math" and have my carbs come in at 30. Whey protein looks like its my best bet - do any of you have any other ideas? I'll keep reading the boards -- but if anyone can give me a little advice on what you had during the day it'd be greatly appreciated! Surgery is a month away and I'd like to start this weekend for the best results! Thanks all! Alana

Hey all ... I'm new here and currently have the band (put in about 4 years ago) but thinking of getting the sleeve. I was banded in Mexico and while I'm thinking of going back there to get sleeved, I was thinking about Florida as well as I am coming down for a visit. However, I'm not sure how things are done down there. Are they like Mexico where you can essentially book your appointment and get done? Or do you have to go thru all the pre-op, psych appointment, meetings, journaling, wait a certain amount of time and then get banded? I'm assuming that its much more money to get sleeved in the US than it is in Mexico but at least I would have my parents down there to help me with recovery for a week or two. If anyone could let me know what the process is down there - I'll be in Naples for 3 weeks and it was just something that popped into my mind. Thanks! Alana
