  1. Good thoughts coming your way. Good luck!
  2. I'm sending good thoughts your way. Good luck!
  3. My surgeon does not require a pre-op diet. I asked her 3 times just to be sure. LOL
  4. I live close to Cedar Point in Ohio and a few years ago I waited in line for about 1 1/2 hrs to go on a roller coaster with my husband and kids. Wouldn't you know that I couldn't get bucked in. My worst fear was happening so I ran out of the gates before my family or the ride operator even noticed. I just sat on a bench and willed myself not to cry while I waited for them. I can't wait until I can ride EVERY ride in ANY amusement park!
  5. I am in the exact place right now. I finished all of my testing and NUT visits on Tuesday and they submitted me to insurance today. I was told my insurance doesn't take too long to make a decision since I have UPMC (Pittsburgh) insurance and I am having my surgery at a UPMC Hospital. I can't wait to get that call with my surgery date! Good luck to you! We are on our way!!!!
  6. Hi everyone, I am pre-op and will be having my surgery in July. My surgeon does not require a pre-op diet of any kind except for nothing after midnight the night before. I am interested in knowing if there is anyone who did not have to do a pre-op diet that decided to do one on their own. And if you did one, do you think it helped prepare you for after surgery? When I asked my nutritionist if I should do one on my own she kind of scoffed at me like, "why would you if you don't have to". Please share any of your thoughts or experiences. Thanks!
  7. I agree with your comment about lack of serious research. I can't tell you how many people I have talked to during support groups, weigh-ins and just sitting in the waiting room at the surgeon's office that were very uniformed about their chosen procedure. Most of them hadn't done a lick of research.
  8. So, I finially finished all of my pre-op testing this week and my coordinator will be submitting everything to insurance for approval. Hopefully, I can get approved and an official date soon. Still hoping for a July date! It's really beginning to feel real now.
  9. Think positive! Congrats and good luck!
  10. Good luck to all of you today!
  11. You will do great! Congrats and Good Luck!
  12. YOU GOT THIS!!! Good Luck!
  13. Hi there! I am aiming for the 12th or the 15th of July. My surgeon only operates on Mondays and Fridays so we will see. I have only told my immediate family and 1 co-worker and all have been supportive. Good luck with your surgery! I am at 258lbs and 5'5".
  14. I'm glad it went well for you! I have mine on June 4th and that is the last hoop I have to jump through. Hopefully, neither of us have to wait too long!
  15. Good Luck! I had my Upper GI, EKG, and Chest X-rays on Monday. All went well and it really did start feeling real for me too!
  16. Awesome! Congratulations on your success and engagement!
  17. Wow! Congrats on the approval! My surgeon won't even schedule a surgery before she gets approval.
  18. Hi there! I am hoping for a July date. I will have everything complete and submitted to insurance in early June. July will be here before we know it!
  19. You are an inspiration. I am close to the same stats as you and I hope that I make it to where you are now. Congratulations!
  20. Congrats on getting your date! I am hoping for a July date as well.
  21. Good luck to both of you!
