I had my surgery 6 months ago today! I've dropped from 355 to 230. I've still got a long way to go, but I'm happy with my progress so far.

Hey, I came across this website today, and I found it very informative. It shows pictures of patients with large amounts of weight loss before and after plastic surgery. WARNING: The pics are uncensored and feature full nudity, so don't click if that offends you.
Does anyone know of other sites like this? (Not necessarily ones with nudity, haha. Just pics of plastic surgery for weight loss patients?)

Hey everybody. I'm from McAlester in Southeastern, OK. I was sleeved in Tijuana with Dr. Fernando Garcia on March 18th. I think those of you going with him will be very happy.

This week I'm five months out from surgery. In the first four months, I dropped from 355 to 246. I've been stalled between 250-246 for the past month. I also ask myself, "Is this it?" I'm hitting Protein, Water, and calorie goals every day. I'm staying fairly active. So, I hope this next month will be better on the scale.< /p>

I started at 344.1 and seven months later I'm 232.2 up and down 5 lbs. i was 229 last week. What do i do? I have 50 plus to go. Is it over?

My surgery was two weeks ago tomorrow. I weighed 327 on my surgery date. I weighed 305 this morning. Highest weight was 338 which was three weeks ago today (I took off 11 lbs in my one week preop diet).

That level you're reporting, it's your TSH? Or something else? if Tsh, Your thyroid is hyperactive at that range which should help weight loss. "normal" ranges are between 1-5. Anything under, is hyper, anything higher is hypo. But many, many people are symptomatic at 2 or less. I have to be close to 1 otherwise I have trouble.
Get a copy of the blood test because they also measure T3 and free T3 and those ranges are different.

Usually with HYPERthyroid (overactive) you would tend to lose weight. HYPOthyroid (underactive) usually makes it harder to lose weight. I have had hypothyroid for many years, which has always been one of my problems. I am only going to be 10 weeks out this coming Monday, but compared to others, I'm losing a little more slowly. 109lbs in 4 months is amazing! That is over 20lbs a month. I am at about 27lbs in 9 weeks. Your body just could be adjusting to the fast loss and taking a break. I wouldn't necessarily contribute it to your thyroid.
Give it a little more time and see what your doctor says. Try not to get too frustrated. You didn't put 184lbs on in 6months or a year, did you? Be patient and it will happen.

I'm glad to hear you're facing your fear Gamergirl. I can't speak for anyone else, but I told everyone who I needed to tell beforehand, and everyone who has asked since. And in my experience, EVERYONE asks. Every single friggin person who has complimented me on my weight loss has followed it up with the question..."how did you do it?" To me, saying diet and exercise was only half an answer.
I think we all should answer the question in whatever way we're most comfortable....but by all mans be prepared to answer it because it will get asked alot.

Be diligent with following procedure of coming off of it. It will give you a headache you'll remember for years.

Tim H... Is this the same Dr Garcia that alma coordinates with? I'm trying to gather information. My date is 10/18. I'm traveling to tj alone and want to know what to expect.
Edited to add that I'm brand new to discussion boards entirely and may have answered part of my question:-$

My dr said Protein bars should have at least 10 grams protein and under 230 calories. Also said to ignore other things on the label. I like EAS and Center for Medical Weight Loss bars.

I had my surgery on March 18th with Dr Garcia. I had a wonderful experience. He and his Entire staff were great. I'm down over 100 lbs. Also, Dr Garcia is great with aftercare. Just add him on Facebook and he'll answer your questions. His name on there is Dr. Fernando Garcia Govea.
