Miss Piggy

Yesterday was a busy, busy day. Had all my bloodwork and H Pylori test done, along with my first of 3 multidisciplinary program appointments. Lastly, my visit with the pulmonologist. Backstory - My BMI is and has been between 35 and 37 for the last 8 years and the only way I will most likely get approved is if I have diagnosed sleep apnea. I do actually have quite a few of the symptoms so it's possible. Just never thought I would be wishing for sleep apnea. Anyway, it's scheduled for next Friday night. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results? I forgot to ask when I was there. Also had my Upper GI this morning... yuck!!!

Introducing myself... I'm 36 yrs old... current weight is 255. I'm worried because I'm 5'10" and my BMI has only ever hit 40 when I was pregnant. I suspect I have sleep apnea and will be getting a sleep study done soon. How bad is it that I want to be diagnosed with that so I can qualify?! This is such an emotional roller coaster. I don't know what I'm asking... I guess just some support from those who have been through Aetna.

Thanks for all the responses!! I have an appointment with the pulmonologist on Thursday so hopefully I will know more about the possible sleep apnea. Fingers crossed, lol!

For those approved through Aetna with a lower BMI, how many comorbidities did you need to show? Some mention 2, but the bulletin is phrased like you only need 1. Waiting for a call back from my coordinator. Thx!!

Good morning, Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kim, I'm 36 years old, married with 2 kids (16month old daughter and 5 year old son). Had my seminar last summer but made my 1,539th attempt to do it on my own, without success. I finally decided enough was enough. I had my consultation last week and now I'm working on what I need to do. Appointments scheduled over the next few weeks. I have Aetna and I'm worried I'm not going to qualify because my BMI is not at 40 but I plan to keep going. It hovers around 36 but I will be having a sleep study done soon that will hopefully officially diagnose sleep apnea so I can qualify. I should have my 3 month multidisciplinary plan done by mid April so I'm hopeful for a May surgery. My head is spinning but I'm excited to finally not let the nagging thoughts and judgements override what I know is best for me, my health and my family. Only HBP during pregnancy... I'm hoping to be diagnosed with sleep apnea so that would qualify me. I feel like my head is spinning and I'm just starting the process, lol!! Thank you!!!
