  1. Thanks so much for all the positive feedback! It's so nice to feel supported and encouraged ~ Thanks again : )
  2. Such a slow process for me. Surgery was Jan. 15th so it been almost 4 months and I am only down 35 pounds. Is this the norm? I feel much better but had no idea it would be such a slow process. I have another 35 pounds to go and am wondering if I will ever reach my goal. Seems like most people lose so much faster than this : (
  3. I find that I am hungry much more often than I thought I would be. It doesn't take much to fill me up but I am hungry again soon after I eat. I don't have cravings like I had before the surgery but I AM still hungry : ( Disappointing to say the least! Also losing MUCH slower than I thought I would. Is it just me?
  4. Everyone is different. I struggled with the "Tell/Don't Tell" issue too! In the end I just decided to spill the beans ~I realized it was my decision and I had to do what was best for me. Found everyone to be very supportive because they knew my weight struggles were so difficult for me. I say do what is best for YOU! : )
  5. Post-op you will have prescribed pain meds so you shouldn't have any issues with headaches! Best of luck to you : )
  6. And Congrats to YOU!!! ~ I hope I am 75 pounds down at 6 months post op!!!
  7. I hope it's not a kidney stone! They can be so painful. I had kidney stones twice (both prior to being sleeved) and worry about that now due to all the protein we have to eat! Best of luck to you ~ I hope you start to feel better soon : )
  8. Thanks Guys! Scale moved just a bit this morning ~ I was getting worried that even surgery wouldn't help!! Best of luck to both of you on your journey. So nice to know I am not alone ~ : )
  9. Oops ~ bad math skills!! I have 48 pounds to go : ( Still a long way to go in four months at the rate I am going!!!
  10. I am 6 weeks Post Op and have already hit a stall : ( I started at 196 with a goal weight of 125 so that gave me 71 lbs to lose. I am down 23 lbs but the scale hasn't moved in a full week. I was really expecting much faster results ~ hoping to reach my goal weight by July. With 52 pounds still to go and things moving so slowly I am wondering if this will be possible. 52 pounds is a long way to go in 4 months! Any suggestions?
  11. I put Splenda in my water ~ no flavoring just plain Splenda, water & crushed ice ~ Yum!
  12. I was sleeved on Jan. 15th and find solid foods a bit heavy. Kind of feels like it gets stuck. Much easier to eat soft foods at this point. I did eat a few bites of chicken today ~ just made sure I chewed really well.
  13. I felt the same way as did so many others! You will start to feel better soon and realize you made the right decision. Hang in there ~ everyday gets better. Hugs to you : )
  14. Just wondering how many carbs and or calories most people are consuming per day. I am hoping to get a better idea of where I should be each day in order to maximize my weight loss. Just started using "My Fitness Pal" again. Hoping this will keep me on track ~ looking forward to your response! : )
  15. I appreciate all the positive feedback! I too, at this point in my journey, find it difficult to get in as much protein/nutrition as I needed. So I haven't really felt like I was doing any "mindless eating" ~ just trying to make smart choices! I continue to make a conscience effort to be aware of each and every bite ~ and enjoying the fact that finally my goal is within reach for the first time in a very long while : )
  16. Thanks so much for all the suggestions! Ended up running into Target right before the movie and found a single serving size of Hummus with pretzels. Thought I would be really uncomfortable being so close to a large bucket of buttered popcorn but it worked out just fine. My little snack was just enough (did not eat even half of the pretzels). Went to see Side Effects ~ movie was kind of slow but the end did have a few unexpected turns! Thanks again everyone ~ I will certainly keep all the suggestions in mind for my next movie night : )
  17. I was worried too ~ but just as everyone has said it does get better each day ~ I promise! Hang in there : )
  18. I would give it a full week. I usually bounce back quickly but the first week after surgery I was wondering what in the hell had I done! By the second week I was better but didn't feel like myself until about week three ~ Now feeling better than I have in a very long time!! Congratulations & Best of luck to you!
  19. Thanks ~ appreciate the response. I will certainly keep the other suggestions in mind for future trips ~ especially the air popped popcorn. Crazy ~ but I never thought of that! That will certainly make life eaier when my husband is gobbling up his extra large bucket : ) Protein shake it is this weekend
  20. My husband wants to go see a movie this weekend ~ NO large Coke with extra ice and large buttered popcorn for me! Any suggestions on healthy snacks I could bring with me? I'm not quite 4 weeks post-op and still on soft foods. Thanks in advance : )
  21. I feel like I am losing slowly - almost three weeks post op and only 19 pounds down. And ~ I know some of that was lost prior to surgery while on the clear liquid diet. Lately I wonder if I am going to be a slow loser throughout this entire journey.
  22. I will be three weeks post op on Tuesday. I had the exact same issues ~ the agitation, shortness of breath and the burping. Wondered if I would ever feel normal again! I promise you will. I feel better than I have in a very long time. Hang in there you should start feeling better soon. The agitation has been much better in the last day or two. For a while there everyone & everything annoyed me : )
  23. My surgery was 1/15/13 - I too, am wondering what in the hell have I done? Will I ever get to eat like a "normal" person again? Will I ever get to enjoy a normal meal? And will food continue to consume my thoughts? I am most certainly questioning my decision
