    ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

I finally had my surgery on Monday. Things went great! I had to have a hiatal hernia repair which I was not expecting but I feel better overall than expected. The pain I feel is from gas and pain at the incision sites some. Last night, had really bad gas pain, felt pressure in chest and sides and it was killing me. I was walking, walking around the house and that helped some but I finally took a gas-x strip and felt immediate relief. AMAZING!!!! I'm thinking maybe I ate to much, so today trying to make sure I keep a journal of everything I consume to keep track. Hopefully, today will be better, so far it is. Good luck to all on thus journey! Wish you the very best!!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Monthly w/ Sleeve?

Thank you Kristina and Trophy wife, I think you gave convinced me to do the ablation but I think I am going to wait till after VSG. What I'm thinking is to change date to 4/10ish which will be right after my monthly which gives me a good 3 weeks or so of healing from VSG then do the ablation in May. With work I don't have that many days and the timeframe to get both procedures by early April with everything going on at work is just to much for me right now physically and mentally. I was feeling so stressed with this decision but I think pushing back the date of VSG then doing the ablation after I know the worst I'd behind me would make things easier. Thanks again ladies!!!! Monthly w/ Sleeve?

Greetings, I'm hoping I can get some feedback to help guide my decision. So, I am in a conundrum in which I have really, really, really bad & heavy cycles. I get terrible pain to the point where I usually can't leave the house. I am pre-op and got approved and suppose to schedule my surgery tomorrow. Sooooo, I saw my GYN and she is suggesting I have an ablation before surgery like next week and then week after would be VSG. The question is should I: A) have the ablation then VSG following week skip ablation have VSG and have ablation some time after surgery C) have ablation as scheduled and postpone VSG a few weeks Basically, I guess I'm trying to understand how having hour cycle with VSG is like. Considering the inability to take meds, pain, bleeding and malnutrition trying to decide what I should do???? I am so anxious to get surgery done but worried about overall health. What would you do??? I appreciate any feedback... Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Monthly w/ Sleeve?

Apricotsmommy, thanks for replying and your feedback. I did have the Mirena and that did not work out for me. I actually had lost weight about 2 yrs ago was maintaining and doing good for a lil over a year I had the Mirena put in and between Dec (put in Mirena) thru August (took out Mirena) I gained about 40pds. I was soooo frustrated. I was spotting a lot pains were better but sex with hubby was uncomfortable. Things just felt weird.... The ablation is my next option before hysterectomy. I think I am going to wait to do ablation. Myron's can only handle one thing at a time and I don't have that much time at work so having to take extra days for ablation is not good. Thanks for sharing though, I find it truly helpful. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  12. I personally would not do the Mexico thing. If your insurance or the sixties office can get it covered, then why not???? They don't call this the greatest country in the world for nothing! The US has agencies to ensure a certain quality of healthcare is received and if not the sic can be held accountable. You got no protection in Mexico. It's your choice but you wanted opinions and that's mine. I wish you the best!!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

  14. I am also on the same boat, I have about 5 PDA to okay with. When I decided to pursue the surgery one of the things I was looking forward to was them putting me in a diet cuz I really want to have a purpose and something to strive for under their guidance. Come to find out, with my BMI I couldn't lose more than 5pds. I actually feel so much pressure bcuz I can't gain cuz obviously I feel the insurance won't approve me but I can't lose either or I would not be eligible and go below the 40BMI. I also have no comorbidity's. So frustrating, I so get where you are coming from. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  15. I have been very perplexed and going back and forth about when is the right time to tell my boss about VSG. Currently if all goes as planned I will have surgery Mid-End March. I work for the hospital that I will be having the surgery in so it's kind of awkward bcuz I know my boss may know some of the people I have been working with in bariatric. I know/hope i should be protected in that regard by HIPAA but nevertheless i still fear them finding out somehow before i officially tell them. The other concern is they are well aware its not an overnight process and am afraid the longer I wait the less notice I am giving, but also hate to say anything before I get approved. I really don't think they will mind and I'm sure they can live without me for a 1 week or so.... What to do, thoughts, suggestions????? Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Florida sleevers

I think the main reason of the pre op classes, evals, tests, etc is for insurance approval processes. I think if your self pay there not as many hoops to jump thru so I would do the research and look into local hospitals that sponsor these procedures and then contact the surgeon(s) to get pricing & criteria for "self-pay" surgery. I would say go straight to the source(s) for your questions to ensure you are not dismissing something without receiving the facts. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  17. So when you do FMLA, the paperwork which they see doesn't say why you are requesting???? Another question, is it pretty standard that FMLA would cover it if we are "choosing/electing" this surgery? Thanks to everyone! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  18. Thxs for the tip with HIM, I hadn't thought about that. The thing of it is that I have worked very closely with all the OR RNs and PERIOP areas as I was their sole trainer for their EMR which was implemented recently. The plot thickens, huh???? Lol Sent from my iPhone using VST
  19. Thank you for your replies, that's what my gut says to wait till approved which should be about a month before. I appreciate your feedback!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
