  1. yeah! The nurse warned me about it while I was waiting in pre-op that it was going to feel like an elephant was sitting on my chest and not to worry. I'm sure your surgery will come in no time(:
  2. The pain wasn't as bad as I was expecting from reading posts on here. As soon as I woke up I could feel a heaviness and tightness in my chest, but I couldn't feel much pain from the incisions because of the pain medicine they give you. I had my surgery on Thursday so I'm still in some pain but it's just when I get up and down and I'm also still on the pain meds the hospital gave me. The heaviness in my chest is also still there but has almost gone away completely. This was my first surgery as well and I'm a definite baby when it comes to pain lol
  3. I know! I miss my beloved pain pump lol I wasn't allowed anything to eat or drink until about an hour before I left the hospital though. How are you feeling now?
  4. The surgery went smoothly except I did have a hiatal hernia which I wasn't expecting at all. The pressure in my chest was surprising waking up but nothing horrible and it's already feeling better today. Hopefully I'll be able to go home today and on my way to the losers bench!
  5. We're almost there! goodluck tomorrow
  6. Wow you look so good! Amazing job (: I hope to be as successful as you. When was your surgery date?
  7. It just depends on your surgeon. I wasn't told do the colon cleanse either
  8. Does your gym have a pool? Swimming or doing water aerobics builds up your strength and would be easy on your bad knee
  9. Tough mudder is an obstacle course that's like 10 miles long, it's usually done in teams. there's Water obstacles as well as jumping over bales of hay, seems pretty tough
  10. There's one on amazon called weight loss surgery cookbook for dummies
  11. Considering she's already asking her doctor if it's safe to get pregnant it seems like her main goal was to be able to conceive. So if you look at it in that light, the surgery did work for her if she's able to get her hormones back the way they were supposed to be. I don't see why everyone is attacking her, I do think it seems a little risky but regardless it's her body and she got the okay from her doctor so let her do what she feels is right.
  12. 3 more days till my surgery on the 21st, and I'm so excited!!
  13. At the vitamin shoppe they have samples of the egg white one as well as different vegan ones made without whey protein! There only a dollar or two as well (:
  14. I do remember hearing that about gastric bypass patients in my class. But I think sleeve patients were fine to as long as their bloodwork was fine. I'd imagine it'd make us more tired than before surgery since we aren't eating as much though.
  15. My surgeon said once I am on the solid food stage I need to be getting 1200 calories a day, so it's crazy to me to see everyone consuming half that most days
  16. My surgery is this Thursday too! Goodluck
  17. I've gone to the shooting of an episode before but the final episode would be way more fun! lol I have my surgery this Thursday, the 21st. My doctor didn't put me on any diet or even tell me to watch what I eat but since everyone on here is on one I put myself on my own pre-op diet lol
  18. I'm pre-op so I can't give much advice but I'm so jealous you'll be going to the after the rose ceremony! lol
  19. I second the egg white protein, I just had the chocolate flavor for breakfast. It's really mild in flavor too, not bad at all.
  20. I asked my surgeon and nutritionist about the hair loss and they both said hair loss doesn't happen to most and that if it was going to happen biotin would not prevent it. They did say that in patients in does happen to, typically they weren't consistently meeting the protein or water intakes and weren't staying up on all the vitamins we take. She told me not to worry and if it does happen it will all grow back.
