Almost 3 weeks Post-Op and need new food ideas please
JP69 replied to rxkid2384's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Crackers are on some peoples list I am still on soft foods, but I never pureed them. Yeck!my Dr said as long as you chew it to a soft consistency before you swallow you should be fine. I have been eating everything I posted earlier since the beginning of week three with no problems, other than I do tend to eat to fast. Also on my list is toast, toasted really well as to get all the moisture out. But then again mot everybody can tolerate exactly what other people eat. -

Check out other posts, there are a lot of ideas from people on here . I eat lots of tuna, salmon, tilapia. Chicken salad, refried beans with cheese and salsa. There's the infamous ricotta bake too. Hope this helps. Try a few crackers too. -
My feet have shrank about a 1/2 size. ALL my shoes are to stretched out, and I had a lot of shoes. But its all good. Packed them all up and sent them on there way!. I have already cleaned out my closet three times, and I'm only 5 weeks out. God I love it:)

Does This Taste Funny?
JP69 commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
I found that Iike things much more spicier than before. Also diet Snapples are to darn sweet, I have to cut them with water by half! Crystal light too. Used to make that a little sweeter than normal now I find myself cutting that also. I have also taken up salt which I didn't use much before, so I know I will have to be careful there. Other foods taste pretty much the same. Just glad I can eat almost regular foods now:) Still dying for fresh veggies and a good salad. That will be worth the wait. -
Okay, so my husband and I took a road trip yesterday. Left pretty early, so I took all my vitamins, and grabbed 1/2 banana. We got to our location about 5 1/2 hours later and my husband was starving as I was too. We were in the middle of nowhere so we picked a litte cafe. There was nothing on the menu I could eat! I ended up ordering a cup of clam chowder, had 3 or 4 bites and ate the 4 saltine crackers. I am only 5 weeks out, but I'm sure this homemade chowder was pretty fattening. I had no protein this day. How you handle eating away from home? Maybe just pack my own food? Will I never be able to eat at a restaurant again?
-
I would have ordered all that kind of food too. But they quit serving breakfast at 12, and they had none of your other items on the menu. Was gonna go for a tuna melt and just take off the bread, but they didn't even have that. At least I did have a few bites of really good clam chowder:)

How do you get enough calories in when I am full at 1/2 to half cup of food? I was thinking of eating between my meals or every two hours a few bites. It's so hard to eat all your food then try and get your water in. Especially when you have wait before and after each time you each time you eat!

Need the best high protein, very low carb cookbooks!?!
JP69 replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, my Nut told me to get this one and I love it. It tells you according to what stages you are in, or weeks out. It'd called- Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery. By Patt Levine and Michele .Bontempo-Saray . -
There are a lot of people on this forum that have switched to the sleeve. So hopefully someone has had similar problems. It sounds like you are having problems with your band. If so it probably should come out. Getting sleeved st the same time makes sense cause you'll already be under and it will help you get back on track with your weight loss. It's a big decision and only one you can make. There's positive and negative people out there. Go with what you truly want and hopefully everyone will support you. Good luck:)

husband is getting on my DAM nerves!
JP69 replied to Cookiemonster73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad I'm not the only one to with this problem. Good post:) I bought the frozen tilapia and salmon from Costco, put in toaster oven and its ready in 15 min. Next thing I know husband is asking for bite. Really! My son too has been stealing my protein drinks! -
I have stalled too. I am 5 weeks out. I get about 64 grams of protein in, but not quite all my fluids. The scale says I'm up 3#! How can it be, we hardly eat a.nything. And yes coffee and drinks of anykind count.

JP69 replied to chicomoni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is where it gets confusing to New sleevers. Each Dr is so very different. I for instance was on clear liquids in the hospital. Once home at day three, I was put on full liquids. Cr soups yogurt, cottage cheese, applsauce for two weeks. Been on soft foods two weeks now and doing great! I am 1 month out:) -

pressure and burping, five days out
JP69 replied to Obsidian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still burp and have pressure occasionally, especially when I take one bite to many, and I'm 4 weeks out. The stomach gurgling is normal, its just air from eating and drinking. Does keep getting better as time goes by. -
I have been eating just sugar free frozen yogurt. Is this not good for ya?

Average weight loss 1 month
JP69 replied to sweetmomma05's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
And I have lost about 18# in 4 weeks, but I am 195. The heavier u are it seems the more u lose than the people that are around 200 or so. And yes males lose more quicker usually. So try not to compare, or compare to someone around the same weight as u:) -
Where do u get goat meat?
