  1. I've been trying to drink my protein drink and my water every time I wake up. Wish I could handle cold drinks or juices but guess I have to wait on those. A nice mushed up banana would be nice too..lol
  2. I keep thinking I should be feeling better but I am only 2 days out and probably being to hard on myself, plus I have the oxygen tank that dries me out. Will be glad to get rid of that. I wake up with a head ache and dry nose from it so that makes me uncomfortable too. Coughing and blowing your noise is like having a busted rib or two. It really hurts lol. I know or hope we all survive these first few days and our lives will be better. From what I've read so far, I know that to be true, maybe with a few bumps along the way but life being better then before. Keep writing, its your words that keep me coming back here...
  3. I ordered the Unjury Sampler and the chicken noodle is great but I think to salty for my tastes at the moment. I haven't tried the other flavors yet. I've been using the Imetabolic products since before my surgery and still using them for the protein. Eventually I'll be taking the chewables too. I'm trying herbal tea this morning as someone had recommended it from another topic. Still can't get but a couple sips down before the pain starts though lol. It will take me a bit longer before I can actually enjoy the taste of some of these drinks. I look forward to some juices or something different soon. Diet snapple and sugar free popsicles sound good too.
  4. I noticed by not using cold water that the pain isn't as bad but have still had to cut back on my tiny sip to lessen the pain. lol. I have been warming up the protein soup and water so it doesn't hurt so much.
  5. I think we need positive views and suggestions, not negative. Many of us have been going through a lot of pain before as well as after our surgery and we want to read about the positive views from others. Or at least I do... I love hearing the success stories, not the name calling and whatever else nasty you have to say about others. We all want to be able to express our views without wondering who is going to make fun of us if we do, and there are some topics here that are hard to discuss or are for me...lol I wish all of you the best success on your surgery and anything you wish to try in your life. I know I've been given a second chance to change many things of my life and I am going to do it.. once I'm able. I do hope I can find others in my area that are looking for people to exercise with as I think that would be easier for me as well. It's all good...
  6. Had mine done on Wednesday the 30th, you are not alone. I'm doing alot of sipping, haven't begun the Vitamins Dr said I could wait til next week, can't even think of trying to chew and swallow yet. lol Still learning to sip ...All will be good in time. I wish everyone the best with their experience. ashiashley I understand the lonelyness. I feel it since I've been home. No one to talk to really that understands what I've just been through so guess that is why I'm speaking up here cause there are so many here that can give us the support we need... Thank you all for being here...
  7. I thought I had the sipping part down until I had my surgery on Wednesday Jan 30th 2013. If you haven't mastered it before your surgery do it now. Every couple of hours I am spending 90 minutes to sip down 1 ounce of protein, my pain meds and water and believe me if I try to do it any faster it hurts. I stayed 1 night in the hospital and they wanted me to stay an extra cause I wasn't getting enough oxygen but I opted to get the tank set up at home instead, was much cheaper then paying for another night in the hospital. I have pain where the main incision is, but more when I try to drink to fast. I much preferred the pain meds they were feeding me in the IV in the hospital though, lol worked faster and went to sleep quicker.. After reading some of the stories here I think I'm having the same issues as others so I won't worry so much. Seems to be the norm for what we've had done. I've had no problem urinating yet, figured the bowels will do what they will when they've got something to do it with lol. Sitting is less painful sometimes then laying down. Although getting out of bed after laying down can be very painful. I know my life has changed and I'm ok with that, actually looking forward to doing so many things I've not been able to do before.

    Am I the only one?

I feel the same way, so many failed diets, I'd lose then when I went off the diet for one reason or another, I'd gain it back but I'm keeping a positive attitude that this will work. Besides having to pay for this surgery myself, I better make sure it does lol. I know the bottom line is we need to change how we eat. I've read so many posts from here and each one has lost weight so.. we just need to make sure we keep losing and keep it off. My surgery is on Wed Jan 30th, I'm nervous, scared, but very positive that my life is about to change in a very good way. Good Luck

    No Pre-op diet

I don't feel so alone now, my Dr requires a 4 week diet. The last 2 weeks nothing but liguids. Today I ended up eating a couple of eggs for protein instead of the liquid shakes. I'll try and be good for the rest of the week lol

    Had Surgery on 1/21. :-)

I'm new to this site but glad I discovered it as I've needed some place to go for support. I'm having surgery on Jan 30th 2013 and a bit nervous but excited as well. It helps reading the positive posts. Haven't had the nerve to read the ones that aren't lol.
