  1. No don't do it. It has been tough for me too. But just think of all the weight you losing now. A slice of pizza isn't worth it. You will be able to eat pizza possibly in a few months so hang in there. We can do this.
  2. Thanks. I even went to the movies and Costco and survived without breaking my diet. Yay me!!!
  3. Thanks for the tip. I just went and bought them. Woo Hoo!!
  4. I'm pretty proud of myself. I have fought the demons of candy, cookies, and hamburgers. I have stuck to my diet. I feel that my relationship with food has begun to change. I eat to live not live to eat.
  5. Thyroid was fine at last blood work. Researched it online. Apparently it's a sign of weight loss. I've cut way down on my food including fat so my body is reacting which means in losing weight. Yay me!!
  6. I'm on day 5 now and it has gotten easier. There was so much food today at a work meeting. I didn't have a bite. I'm at the point where I just want to fill my tummy and I really don't care how. So I was satisfied with my protein drink. Onward and upward.
  7. I'm on my fourth day of pre-op diet and since day 2 I have been super itchy in my torso and legs. No rash, no bites, just itchy. No dry skin so it can't be that. Other than hunger, not the starving, ravenous kind, I'm feeling pretty good. I haven't cheated on my diet. I drink a ton of water, have 2 protein drinks a day, a small light dinner consisting of a protein and vegetables, and take a multi vitamin. On the bright side I already lost some weight.
  8. I'm on day four and I'm proud that I'm sticking to it. Yesterday was my best day but today I'm so tired and really blue. I know Mother Nature is gonna strike soon so that's partly why I feel like this. I'm not going to stray I know that. I drive for my job and I see all these fast food restaurants and it just makes me sick. No wonder we didn't have a chance. I will stick it out but I would really appreciate some encouragement right now. Ok rant over.
  9. I feel the same. Same as you. Yesterday was good but today just feel blue, tired, and yes constipated.
  10. How do we go about getting added to groups? For instance I would like to be in the February, Texas, and San Antonio groups? They require a password.
  11. @Karishero. I'm having it in San Antonio, Tx. With Dr. Gonzalez.
  12. Good luck!! You will do great.
  13. I'm Mexican American first generation so I know what you mean. I'm not too worried about the food bc I figure I can have a bite or two of something when I'm recovered. I'm worried about my chile. I love salsa and jalapeños. I like the spicy food. I'm the type that has a jalapeño on the side to bite into while eating their meal. I guess I'm a little worried about the rice too. A few people have posted that it has no real nutritional value and that it expands in your stomach but I can't imagine not ever eating my Mom's arroz con pollo again.
  14. Water!!! Water!!! I started pre-op diet yesterday and that has helped me curb the hunger. I think tomorrow will either be my worst day and then I will be over the hump. I had headaches and a little nauseous and light headed but the water helped me push through. Yeah I had to go pee alot but as my friend said you are detoxing from all the crap you use to eat. Good luck!!! My surgery is on the 18th.
  15. Feb. 18th here too. 2nd day of pre-op diet. 2 proteins and a small meal. We can do it. So far so good, just a little headache and I won't lie I'm hungry. Really looking forward to my small dinner.
  16. Doing good on pre-op diet. Only thing that's tough is that I am a home health speech therapist and I'm at their houses and I smell their cooking. I show up in the morning and they are cooking breakfast, noon and its lunch, and after 5 and its dinner. That's killing me but I'm holding strong. This is my second day of the pre-op.
  17. Surgery is the 18th too. I started my diet today but I get 2 protein drinks and a small meal a day. It was tough but managed hunger with water. Looking forward to the light dinner. I think bc I am drinking alot of water that I'm extra thirsty. It's like my body is craving the water now. Just have to go pee alot. Hopefully it won't be long before my bladder can take the extra water.
  18. We have the same dates. I do my pre-op visit on the 14th. Started diet today and surgery is the 18th. Good luck to both of us. We can do it!!!
  19. OK so I packed my little lunch bag so I would be ready to go tomorrow morning. I put 2 protein drinks in there and lots of water. Going to stop at a gas station and just buy a package of water to carry in my car. I'm a home health speech therapist so my car is my office. All I'm allowed is 2 protein drinks and a small dinner-beef, chicken, etc and a side of vegetables. Let the liver shrinking begin.
  20. I start tomorrow too. 2 protein drinks and one small meal. Surgery is Feb. 18th.
  21. Those are the Costco ones right. So far I haven't buy I guess I will see on Monday. I have to have 2 shakes and small meal then.
