  1. Thanks Laura, that helps a lot!
  2. Thanks Laura! I am going slow on the drinking but don't feel any restriction yet. Afraid I'm going to take in too much.
  3. How are you feeling? I was sleeved the same day and am doing ok. Let me know your progress
  4. I'm home now. Everything went well. I'm able to drink slowly and don't need too much medication. Just really tired. Thank you all for your support!
  5. Today is the day! I've got the hiccups from being nervous Can't believe most of my stomach only has a few hours to live See ya'll on the other side!! Good luck to all my fellow 2/26'ers.
  6. Good luck tomorrow! I'm only a day behind you. Im sure we will do great no matter where the gas is coming from
  7. Hi Sannah, I won't be on the forum too much this weekend but I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you. I'm glad the pain is manageable for you right now. Try to have a good time with your celebration. I know how you feel about not wanting to miss anything. It may even make you feel a little better. I will be in San Francisco all weekend for my son and daughter to dance at a convention but I will keep checking in on you when I can. Give Venla a big hug!!!
  8. Goodness, Sannah! My heart goes out to you. You are strong. You can do this!!!
  9. I have thought about it quite a bit and I wrote lots of letters one day when I was alone. What hit me the most was when my 14 year old son told me he isn't ready for me to die, we are too close and I'm the only person who understands him. That broke my heart! But it pushed me toward the surgery rather than away from it. Chances of dying in surgery is much less than dying of obesity.
  10. Hi Sannah, I'm so sorry to hear you have to have another procedure! When it rains it pours!! I always say "this too shall pass" but it's hard not knowing WHEN it will pass. You are young and obviously strong. You can do this! Focus on all the wonderful healthy things you and your family will be able to do together when this is all over. Stay strong my friend!! Prayers!
  11. Hi jacee! My surgery is the 26th. I'm still a little afraid but mostly excited to do things with my family again. Let me know how your journey goes.
  12. The Vitamin Shoppe has chewable iron. They have some online. They are suppose to be better than the liquid.
  13. You are right not to let yourself worry yet. Just stay on top of it and make sure your doctors do the same. You have been through a lot. You can make it through this too!
  14. Couldn't find the strips but I got the chewable ones. Will they work too?
  15. Thank you for the article! This is a good motivator for me to work out, even if its just 10-15 minutes to start out. I'm glad there are benefits for such "little" activity.
  16. I know exactly how you feel! My surgery is on 2/26. I wasn't put on a pre-op diet but I can't gain any weight or he won't do the surgery. That scared me into lowering my calories and eliminate sodas. However, my REAL motivation is knowing the lighter I am and the healthier my liver is the surgery goes better and is safer. You WILL have those foods again if you want them later on. However, as Laura-ven told me when I was sad about this, what have those foods done for you? A few minutes of pleasure but a lifetime of physical and emotional pain. The food isn't worthy of you! Hang in there! We are here for you!
  17. You have unleashed the inner goddess! Look out world, here she comes You look amazing!! Thanks for the inspiration!
  18. I'm on the 26th and have the jitters too. I just reminding myself that a few days of pain/discomfort is worth getting healthy for my family again and I feel a little better. Congrats and glad you found us, too.
  19. Feel better Sannah! You are in my thoughts and prayers!!
  20. Great job! Congrats!!!
  21. I'm pre-op but my PA said it would be a little out of whack the first month or two from the trauma and all the changes going on.
  22. My kids are 14 and 11. Of course the 11 year old thinks she's 16! Nothing exciting on the shopping trip. Got a kitchen scale to weigh my food after surgery and Protein shakes. Woo hoo!! Can't wait until I'm shopping for a new wardrobe. San Francisco is beautiful and vibrant and fun. You really should go sometime. So glad you are feeling good today! You really deserve it. Did you find any time for some fun? How is the weather there? My niece lives in a small town outside of Bend Oregon. I'm hoping to visit her this summer.
  23. Yup! I'm in Monterey. Hubby and I moved her from So Cal about 17 years ago. We Love it. We have the city fairly close to go do things but get to live with that small town feel.
