My surgery is in about 2 weeks and while I was excited when I got my date (2/26), today I've been depressed and am already mourning the way I've been living with regards to food. I can't stop thinking about all of the foods that will soon be on the Do Not Eat list. I'm still going through with it but today has just been tough.

Thanks again, Laura. I'm feeling a bit better today. I have some great friends that I usually go to breakfast or lunch with. They are now finding things for us to do together that doesn't center around food. That made me feel loved. Your support means the world to me too. You eating pizza also gave me hope that I'm not saying goodbye to my favorite foods, just "see yo later" and not that much

Sannah- You, girl, are a true inspiration!! Your daughter will someday be so proud of you for your strength and not letting this journey turn you bitter. Thank you SO much for all of your posts. I'm feeling a little more "together" this morning. Laura, you are right! What have those foods done for me except for a SHORT pick me up at times. I really do like changing things in my life but how I eat is how I've always eaten. It's the one thing that's been a constant in my life. It's time to change even that now. I feel a little bad about whining when there are others who are going through much more difficult situations. So, with all your help, I'm out of that "funk". I really appreciate you all!!!!

My PA said not to take iron with your thyroid meds. Keeps them from working. Just another "scheduling" issue.

I'm afraid I won't be able to eat enough either. I think they are good for a "go-to" to keep us healthy until we can eat enough.

Did the nurses teach you how to get out of bed properly? Roll over on your side, hold a pillow against your belly with one arm and use your other to push yourself up. Use your arm more than your ab muscles. Helped a lot with my csections and gallbladder removal. Hope you feel better.

I was told no more than 40-45 g of protein. I'm also 4'10" but he recommends that overall. He also said to limit shakes and to get my protein from food if possible.

No pre-op diet either. Just not allowed to gain any weight before surgery so I've restricted my carbs and calories just to be safe. Lost 10 pounds.

Fawn- I agree. The withdrawals come on quick so i sure hope I'm not throwing up and not able to take it.

I'm on Effexor for depression and anxiety. My surgeon said there's no problem taking it before during or after. Hope this helps.

17 days for me too! Feel like I'm going to bust out of my skin!!!
