2 Weeks Post Op and I am hungry!
kiki1196 replied to MK1986's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get better but it can get so tough I actually cried. Egg drop soup was my "treat" because it didn't seem like diet food. Creamy soups were great for me as well. Hang in there and stay diligent. It WILL get better. -
1000 Calories? What Does Your Doc Say?
kiki1196 replied to SweetP's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was told to stay under 1000 calories a day but I am also only 4'10" so that may have something to do with it. I'm 3 weeks out and doing about 700 a day. -

Ghrelin...do we get it back?
kiki1196 replied to sirensiren's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You are definitely not alone. Don't be afraid to "talk" things out with a support group or on here. I'm 3 weeks out and my depression has gone up and down several times since then. I'm hoping it levels out the more my body gets use to this new situation. Hang tough, it will get better. -

Congrats! Yes, everything is completely normal and it gets a lot better every day. Stay strong! -
I hope you find out what exactly is the problem and they can fix it quickly! It's terrible that we go through the surgery to feel better and healthier just to have something else mess us up!! Stay strong!

How are you doing? -
I was told coffee is ok as long as it doesn't cause you to skip a nutritional meal. I also put in my protein drink instead of creamer so I save on sugars and fat.

Rest in Peace! I will walk more in honor of him. Love and prayers to his family.

Thank you! Protein shake question
kiki1196 replied to capeciw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Premier protein drinks from Costco and Sams club are really good. I like the chocolate. Others like the vanilla. So yummy and smooth. -

At my two week post op appt the PA said I'm losing too fast and some of it must be muscle, which isn't good. I had lost 11# at that point. Anyway heard of this? I've never had to slow down my weight loss before!

Me too!!

One weight loss dr I had several years ago had one and you step on these sensors on the machine barefoot and also hold some in your hands. From that it tells you your % of fat, Water, muscle, etc. Its pretty cool. Wish my surgeons office had one.

My BMI when I had surgery was about 40-41 so this is the rate I had expected. Maybe at the next appointment I will ask for more clarification.
-
Thanks everyone! This makes me feel better
-
No they didn't but I wish they had. I get in all of my protein everyday too.
